I am extremely pleased to be disappointed :)
For the love of truth, I will show you what misleaded me.
http://www.empires-and-dance.com/iner.html
in that page you will find a link to Inertia website:
http://www.thefoundry.org.uk/inertia/
that is clearly nothing that we'd like to see at Slimes :)
anyway
I am willing to believe to your words, and I apologize for not knowing the "right" Inertia band.
:)

didn't know that Slimelight is anti-christian. Did I miss anything?

never said I am anti-christian. I do am christian.
the problem is that those guys (which we cleared are not the ones that'll play, so this discussion is quite dead) play christian ROCK.
no ebm, no goth, etc...
anyway, the topic is dead, as far as those are not the true Inertia playing on 10th :)

Slimelight isn't anti-Christian, but most people that go have enough brain cells to think for themselves and not be dictated to by some numpty in a black gown & white collar. Religion is organised stupidity & a cause of many wars & hurtingness.

sure thing religion is some crap...
thought he was going about the religion.

but:
there are sometimes concerts before slimelight, sometimes even Death / Black Metal (where I am as well then :) )
is it even worse than ROCK? shouldn't it be allowed?
if so, why?

or is this concert during slimelight? must admit, got no idea, as I'll be in Germany on exactly that day...

the bands play during normal slimelgiht hours usually unless you find a hint as to when it starts and how much it will cost, also an announcement that you can stay on after the concert if you purchased a ticket.

shame that most bands play upstairs. but do remember that upstairs opens about 11 ish all things running smoothly.

ps death and black metal can fuck right off!

anyway, just with the techno, there are enough clubs who deal with that sort of rubbish!

Ahh Snowwy ... as open-minded as ever!

I'm with Snowwy on this one, and it's not about open-mindedness. I listen to a whole range of stuff, yet I go to Slimelight to hear Goth, Industrial etc. It's an alternative club so it should be playing alternative music and hosting alternative bands right? There are enough mainstream venues for mainstream bands to play at, decent venues that will host alternative bands are few and far between, even in London.

There are other, better, venues for techno, IDM, drill-n-bass, drum-n-bass, experimental hip-hop, whatever... if Slimelight wants to compete with that then I'll go with the competition. I often do. These days I usually only go to Slimelight when there's a trad goth floor open, sad as it is to say, because Slimelight's about the only club that will do that on a Saturday night. It's my opinion that Slimelight should focus more on what makes it individual.

The mention of these bands was that they play before Slimelight. I don't book them, go to see them or even pay any attention to whether a death metal or black metal band has played there, is playing there or might play there ... I have no interest ... so, what's your point?

I merely made a comment about Snowwy's "open-minded-ness". Show me where I said or implied anything else!

If I offended anyone (talking to you here Snowwy), then please accept my appologies. My warped sense of humour (if you can call it that) sometimes gets the better of me.

hehehe nawwww, its okay mate i dont mind you liking all the townie stuff and calling it open minded (sorry - my warped sense of humour)

to be serious though.
i havent got an open mind, that is why i do not go to Fabric or Mass or "SPIN" @ Club 414 or Alliance or beatsabangin vs niteclubbers.net or BORN 2 FUNK @ KOZ!!! or Club Smack! or Elevation Vs Planet Potato or Funkshun or Funky4Love or Knowwhere In August @ The Fridge or London Clubs Together @ Club Aquarium or Shining with The Hub Sound System or SHIVA (ILLUMINATION) @ ELECTROWERKZ or U4RIA Trance or HardcoreXpression@The Beach or becomeone summer of love III @ Anexo or BK @ The Captain Cookor Carnage @ George IV or Crossover @ George IV or EcLEctRiC with Treva Whateva @ The White House or FFFreshly Squeezed FFForest Party! @ Willesden Junction Canal Forest or Honeyriders: OurHouse or Illicit Audio - FT Deepgroove or Insekt or Loch Stock & Too Smoking Turntables or One Promotions presents Destination SSB or Pimps and Pro's Boat Party or Polysexual South or Shining AFTERPARTY or Spectrum - the colours of hard dance or TECHSTYLE SUMMER SESSIONS 'RACKITT' or The Pimp & Prostitute Ball

which are all on this weekend

i go however to Slimelight which is my vaourite club, no matter how scruffy and run down it looks like inside and its not because i could not afford to go to any of the above clubs, i have enough money to be able to go out whenever i choose, i choose however Slimelight because it caters to my eclectic taste of music which is, has been, might still be in the future

Industrial, Noise, Neofolk and Goth!

and not because of any other reason.

i think you know what i mean.. i am just somewhat an old goth/industrial and i have the sneak suspicion that i will stay that way for a while longer.

if i have the urge to go and dance my way through a psy trance, hard dance or techno again, which i have done several times last year then i will do but i will not demand that sort of music to be played at Slimelight

and now for something completely different:

Inertia played at the WGT once, but I really can't remember how they sound like. I hope that's no bad omen ;)

Their leadsinger - Reza Udhin - has joined Killing Joke on keyboards. (He replaces Nick Walker, who was with the band for 11 years.)
His wife - Alexys - has an awesome taste in music; I had a good talk with her quite recently. And she's quite attractive ;)

Sorry, that's all I know.

Here's the link to their official website:
