...alloowed in or not?
They're not black...... I've been into Goth music from circa. 1986 and I would prefer there to be a quiz at the door to see whose allowed in. My specialist subjsect would be Nick Cave, though I would feel confident on answering most questions on Alien Sex Fiend, Fields of the Nephilim, Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Sex Gang Children, Ausgang, etc.

why dont you get yourself a cheap pair of black shoes or trainers, i mean most people like to rather look at nicely dressed people anyway, black trainers last MUCH longer than white, beige (or similar visual insults) as they look much less dirty and shitty :D
see, your club does not only entertain you, it forces you to dress more flattering too

Go with a set of British Army Combat Boots imo. You can get them second hand and cheap in various places, use them in any situation, and they last for yeeaaarrrs.

where do you guys get off telling people what to wear?
converse are not the kind of shoes worn by the typical townie troublemaker.
sometimes i wear black boots to parties, sometimes skate trainers because there more comfy to dance in, undeniably so. especially given slimes has that concrete floor... not exactly orthopeadically sypathetic.
i've never been denied entry to slimelight on the basis of my footwear choice. mind you, i've had membership off and on for a good few years plus one of the bouncers knows my face and always says hello when the door.

I don't think anyone is "getting off" telling people what to wear. Advice was asked for here, and it has been given. If you look the part, a pair of converse will be fine! ... but, if you're in doubt, get a cheap pair of para boots.

oh yes, couldnt agree more but for peopel who only ever wear trainers, black ones would be the way forward i think.

and if i may say that, SP's dress sense is great... many positive remarks about it support that.

Ah, these remind me of a pair of (red) basketball shoes I had when I was a kid. I owned them (and was oh-so-proud) for about two days before my grandmother's dog ate them...I was traumatised, started wearing black, and the rest (as they say) is history... ;)
