Hi all,

Well I've been working down in Hampshire for 3 weeks now so I've decided to stay over in London this weekend. I am a member of slimes but not been since I joined in Jan 04 (I guess it would still be ok to get in without card - just provide my details and pay renewal fee?). I'm looking forward to it but I won't be dressed all that well as I wasn't originally going to stay down here this weekend and therefore left all my good stuff and boots back home - gah!.

Does anyone know if the left luggage in Kings Cross accepts luggage being left over night? I have decided not to get a hotel room - I can claim it back but have to shell out first and due to current limited cash flow until I get paid I'd rather have that cash available for other things this weekend (like maybe buying something to wear!) but will have the problem of having my luggage with me.

I heard people years ago saying that they took vodka in with them to get them through from 2am-7am, what is the official policy on this these days?. I don't mind paying for drinks whatsoever but 5hrs without an alcoholic drink may leave me frightfully sober.

Anyway, I'm excited but a little nervous also spending all that time on my own, I just hope the music is as good as I remember!.

Kindest Regards,
Ben

Slimelight is a licensed club, which I'm pretty sure makes it illegal to take your own stuff in. So put it this way, I wouldn't turn up with a bottle of vodka in a sainsbury's carrier-bag.

I think they can check your detais on the computer - however, i think membership only lasts a year, so you might have to pay full price.

bottle of vodka more well-concealed or bottle of mixer is, however a different matter in my experience.

You membership can be renewed provided we can find you on the computer. Ideally we want the old card back, as we don't want a bunch of out-of-date ones kicking around. But of course, if you've lost it (or 'lost' it), it can't be helped ....

The policy on alcohol is that, as Kylon says, it is a licensed club. That means that technically no-one should have any alcohol after 2am, regardless of where it came from.

I'm certainly not advocating bringing your own booze, but ... we don't usually search people on the door. Of course people walking in with a bottle in their hand WILL find themselves getting it confiscated.

I'm saying no more ...

Thanks for your advice. I had a great time but didn't take any alcohol. What I did do is take my rucksack and filled it with cans of stella while the 2 for 1 offer was still available, so therefore I got a bargain indeed.

It was a superb night, and despite arriving on my own I quickly found that there were plenty of people to talk to, and even found myself with some pleasant female company. I will be going again on Saturday the 2nd July so hopefully I can have an equally good night!.

Cheers all.
Ben
