Its been said many a time before, but I will say it again.
The music this saturday was fucking awesome.
Pete, Francesca and Mark played amazing sets.
and Dylan's set, oh yes. Please tell me that there will be more of that in the future and it wasn't just a one off. It was wikkid.

Yes, I'm sure there will be more of Dylan :) He's got some nasty stuff up his sleeve, and he'll bring some new harsh sounds to the club if he gets the chance to play them! On the other hand, I had a bit of an off-form night trying to take the BPM up when I realised people were too tired after all the good sets before! Came right when things got a bit slower and grindier though. Still learning :)

Fluxy, you should come join our Fridays Pub-Gang (tm) sometime - just follow Shaun out of the office on a Friday evening to find out where the $Random_Location of each week lies. Always an adventure!

Usually me, Shaun, Dylan, our mate Miguel, and sometimes Uwe

Was Dylan the guy with long hair? Playing at about 4am? Caught a bit of his set, and enjoyed it.

This weekend, actually, if all goes according to plan! Don't think I'll be able to make it out though due to a crazy deadline at work

One day I will get you guys to point out who is who.

It is a shame that the DJ box is so far back, makes it a lot harder to figure out who is playing.

And Uwe should be out this weekend?

Excellent :D

I have nothing sensible to add to this thread but as that doesn't usually seem to stop anyone else I'd just like to say ' I am the weasel...fear me'...to quote the Bard.
Oh yeah and what ever happened to NIN, Ministry,Cabaret Voltaire et al on the top floor then?

I'm still bemoaning that loss ;)

and yeah I'm about as much of a music geek as you can get, we all have our weaknesses.

I have nothing to add to this thread either Fad, but still that doesn't mean I'm going to add some ridiculous quote about Vin Diesel.
However..
The top floor might be a better place if Cabaret Voltaire was played, and if some of the Rivetheads were clothed in Velvet.

Not to burst too many bubbles, but the upstairs floor has been called "Industek" for quite a while now (for some reason) and the Industrial music you guys are talking about is both fairly mainstream and old! Not to say it isn't good, and I do like my fix of that stuff, but it no longer fits in.

You hear NIN and Ministry and Cubanate and other oldie industrial stuff on the middle floor anyway. Although they could do with some Meat Beat Manifesto ;)

Indeed but one track of each of those two artists is about it on any given night. What happened to all the old Zoth Ommog, other Wax Trax etc. I understand and had said before that it's not the most forward thinking of music policies and with that in mind it'd be nice to see it treated in a similar way to trad goth with the odd hour set thrown in a couple of times every month.

why settle for a old school hour? how about a 3 floor Industrial night and use downstairs for old school stuff, as long as it didn't clash with Strength Through Joy.
It seems to work for Trad Goth events and Industrial is just as popular and even harder to find good nights for, Strength Through Joy being the only one I am aware of.
And lets face it, there is a list as long as stretch adams arm of bands and tunes that could easily fill 5hours or so.
and perhaps tunes like:

Fugazi - Waiting Room
or
Big Black - Kerosene

that Mak sometimes plays might fit in better down there? Cos upstairs there's only usually 2 or 3 people dancing to them because they dont easily fit in with the more electronic dancey stuff and some folk dont quite know what to make of it.
