I am dismayed ... I expected soooo much from this film. If the BBC can make a decent job of it (old series) on a low budget with crap special effects, just imagine what could be done now with CGI!

Alas, it seems that their promises are hollow. I mean ... how could you miss out Disaster Area? ... or proving the non-existence of God?

The description of the Vogon ships hanging in the air "in exactly the same way that bricks don't"

How can that not be in the film? That is the quote I use whenever I try to explain the genius of the books to people

The second part of the Guide entry on Babel fish, about proving the non-existence of God

How can that not be in the film?

I am feeling very, very depressed

So basically it's a good excuse to watch the series again & forget this apparent pile of bile!

I say bring on the Red Dwarf movie...you know that's gonna blow donkey cock too *sigh*

Empire Magazine gave it a pretty good review; 4/5, so I think I'll give it a chance when it comes out.

Hey, well that's promising. It may be that it's one of those films where, if you don't know the original version, it stands alone OK. The rest of us may have to think of it as something other than the HHG...

when i heard about this movie coming out i was amazed that someone had the front to simply attempt to remake such a splendid piece of film-and not move on to any of the other books and base the movie on them!

but at least they havent made marvin ...happy!! as a rumour i recently heard suggested!

i refuse to be put off by this even if they have missed out that utterly fantastic brick gag..

and as for the red dwarf film coming out-ive been waiting for that for over 7 years!!!-i think ive actually given up! 8O
its been postponed so many times for various inadequate reasons-its ridiculous!
and im sure it wouldnt do the early seasons any justice even if it was to come out

this is a wednesday isnt it...i could never get the hang of wednesdays  -arthur dent
