from june 9 - october 9, 2005 there will be an exhibit of frida kahlo's paintings! i love her! she is my favourite artist - socialist feminist painter during the mexican revolution, feisty, passionate, wife of diego riveira, had an affair with leon trotsky. anyone else lover her works as much as i do ? xoxo cyber gothic diva

i dunno - i love her politics but i'm not over-fond of her actual artwork; seems very simplistic to me, and very narcisstic. I dislike the fact that she's probably the world's most famous female artist right now, and that it's probably because of who she slept with, and her subject matter, rather than the quality of her work, which i consider mediocre. I love her use of red toned monochromatic backgrounds though.
