c#mon, they're punk but they're great!! especially the track "oh bondage up yours"!

who agrees?
who has never heard of them?
and out of the last one, how many of you are willing to look them up?

I recognise the name - is this quite an old band?

I have heard of them (possibly heard them) but doubt they'll appeal that much to me.

indeed they are old! but fab! think they would get ressurected at slimes? *is doubtful but don't ask, don't get* :D

"my mind is like a plastic bag..." hehehehe!!!! superb lyrics!!!!

they are my latest music obsession :S and considering how old they are it goes to show how young and unwise i am to the brilliance of pre-80's music! (thye were pre-80's right?!)

i think it's safe to say when you're living through your teens it feels like the weight of the world rests on your shoulders. constant pressure from school to get grades, get uni applications in, budget so you can study AND have a social life....

lol, seems all so insignificant when you get older though.

I thought they ended in late 70's through the punk movement before it became new wave and Polly formed another band and they just brought out another album at a later stage through 80's.

I was never a great fan, only had a few of there classics on compilations like, 'Germ Free Adolescence', 'Oh Bondage Up Yours', and 'Identity'.

A whisper did tell me a new album's coming soon, however I do'nt really condone few old bands who make there come backs to make big bucks.
Saw few punk bands who've reformed etc to cash in on there retirement fund and is generally better left in history, rather than furthering on in this generation like the Sex Pistols on there Filthy Lucre Tour. Missed Killing Joke, but sorta glad I did to an extent as I heard bad reviews and them being one of my fav bands, I'd rather leave the good in my imagination rather than anything being spoiled as such. But I would see them if they toured again.

I'd love to see bands such as Sisters Of Mercy, Bauhaus, The Damned, The Cult (which is highly doubtful anyhow now that The Doors has set in again, but you never know) etc, I think I'd take that gamble with these bands still and few others.

I guess some bands can still pull it off, but some become lesser to what they were for reforming.

Few artists whom live on through another project or solo, like Siouxsie (Creatures), Joe Strummer (ex Clash R.I.P), still manage to pull it off well in todays times. I am going to see 'Abdoujaparov' tonight (ex members from Carter USM), so this will be an interesting event. :)

i hope the band is great tonight! i've never heard of them, but going by your taste in music i think i would like them.

i would tove to get some music by siouxsie! must get an album when i can pull together some cash. i think if x-ray spex to bring out another album it'll be worth listening to, just in case it's to the same standard or better. i only have the germ free adolescents album at the moment. some great music on there.

X-ray spex are not my generation, but i have fallen in love with them after hearing "The day the world turned day- glo " .Ended up buying th CD "The anthology " and enjoyed every minute of it .

And about some of these bands making a return : I was lucky enough to see a few ( 999, sham 69, The stranglers, The undretones, Buzzcocks) , and all i can say WOW !!! The new generation of punk bands have a long long way to go ! I was glad i could have a slice of that important few years of the music history .

X-Ray Spex. WOW! That is School Disco stuff for me. Never got to see them as I didn't do my first gig till 1981. Polly Styrene became a Hare Krishna, I heard they reformed a few years ago with a new singer called Polly Filler HAHA.
I am all up for old bands reforming, I love nostalgia, I went to Germany for the Sex pistols reform where they played with The Sisters Of Mercy. Double Whammy as they are my fav punk band with my fav goth band.
999 are still going and I saw thm in Acton recently. SUPERB.
Didnt bother with The Doors as with Astbury on vocals it was more like a covers band than a reform.

Sex Pistols playing with Sisters? now that would have been a memorable concert  . I thought the Pistols still managed to pull of the show rather well, but it was obvious it was more of just a money making scam for them (considering what they were all about in the first place), but I guess if they can make huge dollars over something like this why not.

The Sisters would be one of my favs to see, not sure if they are still playing these days with other projects in place, but they would be worth seeing. I heard The Damned will be playing in London this year also.

there is so much you do not know about me mista.... lets put it that way, people dont usually complain that they get bored with me ;) having said that... i can be very boring and simply just dance for hours and hours and hours if the music is right... and i did say i used to love them... i used to love mozard's requiem too, doesnt mean i expect to hear it at slimelight... or Karl Orff now is that cool stuff or not?

in fact some days i think its better to go to a club where i like the music less but i know what i can expect than the waiting game... but i guess goth clubs are like that a bit :( having said that i am only going to the brighton goth clubs these days cos my mates are there and i can get ridiculously drunk ;) its been known that i forgot how i got home ;)

hehehe
