Thanks Mike.
The question I'll leave to you is : Am I lazy, stupid or BOTH?
I may actually make it to see Lacuna Coil this time, after the almighty cock-up last time  ...

I'll go for Lazy as I see you posted it on a Saturday when no doubt you had more interesting activites to partake in.
Whereas I'm at work so have little qualms when it comes to wasting time :)

I'd dispute the label 'Lazy', but it's just SUCH a lot of effort and I really can't be bothered ;)

:D I am definitely going to Mera Luna this year! Been far too long since I have been anywhere. Sisters, VNV, Amduscia, Combichrist, Cephalgy, Hocico, Melotron and Cruxshadows!
Was a bit pissed off though when I saw that I have to pay 35 euros postage for my ticket though, as it's about half the cost of the ticket!

Have you got your tickets yet? DONT spend 35 euro on shipping, try www.kartenhaus.de The shipping costs are actually realistic. I have used Kartenhaus for my tickets for Mera Luna for the last 2 years, and they are brilliant. I had a problem with the tickets last year and after I called them, they rectified the problem by DHL-ing a new ticket so that I got it the next day, and they were really nice about it too.
I went to a festival in Germany last December and could only get tickets via the German equivilant on of TicketMaster (TicketGits). They too wanted to charge me 35 euro just for postage (that was the same price as one ticket ) , so I got a friend in Germany to order it for me, otherwise I would have refused to go to the festival on principle.

 Grrr! I bought the ticket earlier this evening. Thanks for the tip I shall bookmark the page and remember it next time. I checked out Kartenhaus and the ticket is also listed for 5 euros less on there than getgo.de and postage is only 6.50 euros, I could have saved about Å20 booking thru them. I think that most companies charge absurd amounts of money for booking fees and postage. I do realise they obviously have/want to make a profit, but daylight robbery is another thing!
Just checked out http://www.Hildesheim.de for hotels etc in Hildesheim. Any more tips on finding a cheap hotel there. Can't be bothered with camping and I will also be going to Hamburg a couple of days before Mera Luna so I don't want to be lugging loads of extra stuff with me.

Hi Skyfrog
Sorry to hear about your ticket :( . As for hotels I found the best way to find what is best for you is to go to http://www.hildesheim.de/english/index.asp?ID=1 then click on 'area map', which will load up a rather groovy interactive map, press start. Then you will find a list in the grey box on the right hand side. Click on hotels, which will give you a great list of places to stay and then highlight where they are on the map. Then all I do is 'google' the names of the hotel to get to the websites. (sorry if that all sounded patronising, it's just that I am techno-thick, and need great detail...and I assume everyone else does too).
Camping at a festival is ball-ache and should be avoided at all costs, to maintain sanity 8O . Or maybe I just appreciate my sleep, a shower and a real toilet more as I get older
There are usually plenty of cabs running from the town to and from the festival site if you don't want to walk and I think the fare was about 5-7 euro each way (but don't quote me on that).
Anyway, I hope that's helped a bit?
All the best

I know it's too late now, but I second the recommendation for kartenhaus to buy tickets for Mera Luna to anyone else thinking of going. This is the service I have used for the last 2 years. Tickets have always arrived within a couple of days with only about a 4 Euro P + P fee. Apparently the festival never sells out so you should be able to get tickets at the entrance. I wouldn't chance that though.
http://www.kartenhaus.de/ for more details. I believe there is now an translated English version of this site now! I'm loking forward to Subway to Sally, Schaundmaul, Sisters and Lacuna Coil mainly!

Thanks for all the advice and tips.
I received my Mera Luna ticket by courier during the week. So looking forward to going. I will sort out accomodation in the next couple of days.
Maybe see some of you there.
