there are a couple of b&bs on Essex Road, make sure you talk nicely to them to not wake you in the morning!

there is a travel lodge near King's Cross and i think they sometimes have cheap deals at the weekend or there are some BnBs around there and you can easily walk to King's Cross from Slimelights

Looks like Swinton Hotel has decent rates and is fairly close. No idea if it's a good hotel or not, though.

Ive not tried the one in Barbican but I used to crash at the YMCA in Camden if I was going to The Electric Ballroom as I live miles away from London and a 3/4am kickout is hideously inconvinient. You're looking at a 20 minute walk but there are night busses and it's a dirt cheap bed.
