yeah do you think you could maybe turn the music down a bit, cos it hard to talk sometimes, cant even hear meself think let alone hold a conversation, i mean i would still like to have my hearing later on in life.

We dance with spastics in rubber suits all the time at Slimes, so your Downs friends would feel right at home :)

For nice chats try the all night cafe in Kingsway. They sell lovely Danish pastries and hot sweet tea.
For f*cking loud music, try Slimelight, THE Alternative club in Angel.
I hope this helps.

I can tell you're a regular who's taking the piss! Which means you're playing out multiple personalities (which, as you might benefit from knowing, ISN'T what schizophrenia is at all).
Your spelling mistakes, malapropisms, misquotes and dysfunction of primary logic faculties are too glaring to be serious. Own up, whoever you are! :)

no i am not taking the piss. i do work as a classroom assistant in a stream school for children and adults with learning disabilities and funnily enough some of the downs people i work with like ebm and goth music. One of my friends Jeffrey really loves VNV because he says he can sing like Ronan Harris, but i feel that most people in slimelight are so rude and obnoxious that taking him there would just cause him upset from all the small minded majority of regulars who would point, stare and mock.

You're joking right?????? how can they be narrow minded if they dress and look the way they do. Slimelight people are constantly ridiculed by the public, so why would they do it in their own safe haven called slimelight. I think you are the judgemental narrow minded person.

I don't believe you. You are exhibiting a far too obnoxious, arrogant and rude attitude (especially reading what you're saying in the Shout Out box) to NOT be taking the piss. If you're being serious, well, I extend my sincere sympathies!
The music is actually quieter than it was a few years ago. In fact, it's often not loud enough to create the immersive atmosphere of times past.
There are many places to talk which don't involve being on the dancefloor or directly in front of the speakers, but if you're going out purely for a conversation with some friends, may I recommend a pub?
As for acceptance of people who are different or otherwise considered special, I'm quite certain they'd fare better at somewhere like Slimelight than at normal mainstream clubs. Hell, they'd fit right in.

I take huge offense in what you say. You do not know who the hell I am.
My mother, before retiring, was the deputy head of a special needs school, a fairly large one. In London, there is an annual outing for special needs children called "Kids Out" at Chessington World of Adventures. I have on numerous years taken a day off work and helped out children with autistism, downs and other disabilities on this day out.
I suggest you take your preconceptions about us and....

See,... I am not the only one who thinks that Slimelight is not exactly the place to talk, specially not the dancefloor, even less when you are trying to dance to...
I have seen people in wheelchairs(for instance) in Slime and I think they were very well accepted, nobody seemed to take the piss out of them or annoy them... I can not agree more with untermensch, when he says that the acceptance of people who are different is more likely to happen at Slimelight than any other place and this is another reason why Slimelight is a fucking great place....

I'm training to be an Occupational therapist so I do understand your concerns. We do have disabled access and a there are one or two members that are in wheelchairs they seem to have no problems. We also have a disabled toilet on the top floor. Unfortunatly we have no ramps or lifts but, if you ask our security they'd be only too happy to assist your friends up the stairs. As for the music....it's a nightclub. Nightclubs= loud music, there's nothing worse than hearing someones PVC trousere swooshing together whilst you are dancing!! As for your friend being welcome we have absolutly no problem with them turning up, though unfortiunatly there are alot of narrowminded folk about...something no matter how much we try we just can't change

btw i danced in front of a woman last saturday who was obviously using a wheelchair... its not nice that there is no proper access but i guess its a bit hard to fit retrospectively into an old building as Electrowerkz.
