Umm yeah I will also be! have been for the past 2 years after a 4.5 year relationship blew up of which I'm glad to be out of and happy being single for the moment.
The whole Valentines day is typical yankee stuff if you ask me, I'm not too bothered by the whole concept :| I'd rather give a special person a 'gift made from myself' at any time rather than wait for this day to come around to prove my appreciation.

Yep, I'm with you on that Jesse - the commercialism has killed the romance of Valentine's Day, and that was the good bit!

The other half isn't in the least bit romantic, which is odd for a female, so that works for me. :D

Valentines day , bah humbug , I've always despised society telling people that THEY HAVE to show love , usually by spending money , on one freakin' day, while giving a very smug finger to those single , and making those that feel bad , worse!
BAHHH Humbug!!

Yes I like romance very much! ~ that gut feeling you get when you're with someone whom means so much to you and how much you enjoy there company and to touch, cuddle, smile, laugh with, kiss etc it's all fun! Unfortunately I've yet met that special one :(
Guy13 you should feel fortunate you've found your match. :P

nothing to do with gothic..
... i found that if you say that you do not celebrate those publically set celebration days, then chances are that you never will. its good as peopel can look forward to it and you see, i was totally flabbergahsted when i got valentines cards from somebody and never knew who from..
... the feeling is unbelievable, even though i was very happily in love at the time, it flatters you so much :D
also the time when 12 incredible red roses arrived .... fantastic...
but then again, i am a vain and posh bitch, so that would pander nicely to my ego ;)

On one level I do agree that its over commercialised and in a sence fales. But on an other, if a boyfriend was to agree with me and not get me anything, he'd be in for it

A perfect example of why men can do no right.
Isn't it better to show the love consistently all year than making overblown gestures than inevitably line Clinton cards pockets.

actually, come to think of it... would be a cute idea if slimelight had a big pinboard, where people could pin up their secret admiring letters to others or a big box or something... hehe, what a chaos that would create hahaha....
or a kinky kupid who hand delivers them

who said about cards from some shop? i make my cards myself...
well, i guess its good to show your appreciation all year round though with stress and life being the shitty thing that it is, its hard to always remember to appreciate your partner. also valentines day is the day where not just lovers show their affection, its also the day where people are allowed to send secret admiration cards or token.... and to be honest, i would love to see your face if Berzerk Angel got a bunch of roses from somebody, not knowing who sent them.... *sniggers* i should really do it,. shame i cannot be there to see it ;)

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest as I'm not the jealous type.Of course I'd be curious as to the sender.
I'd take it as a backhanded compliment that if people fancy my missus then it means that I must be doing something right.
Better to have people look at your other half admiringly than think they are a bit ropey,eh?

Not that I'm volunteering.
Still haven't found a girl I like enough to get in a relationship with. Or maybe I'm just too damn picky. Ah well, who cares, may aswell get someone perfect...nothing wrong with becoming good mates with all the girls who either don't like you enough to go into a relationship or the other way around.
I don't like Valentines day anyway, as mentioned it's just another commercial holiday in order to make money.

You know what is worth than havin no girlfriend aty valentine's day ?
Havin one livin in London, something like two stations ago from your home, and have an argument the day before. At least, it will be more economic (not sure, i go to the Key to see LCD Soundsystem, and i will have to drink a fuckin lot to enjoy the night.)

As I split up with my boyfriend in November I will be on my own tomorrow, specially also because he's in Madrid enjoying Decibelio Festival. Anyway, I do not care much about that particular day...
But what I wanted to ask is: what is so terrible about not having a partner/love relationship on the 14th of February?
Or even more, what is so terrible about not having a partner/love relationship??
If you don't have a partner, just enjoy the freedom you have to do what pleases you, when you want, where you want...!!
Anyway, I don't believe that in these days and age, our society can support long term relationships at all. That was for the old days, but not for the present times anymore.
That's the XXI century for us. We just have to face it.
Enjoy your 14th of February, either if you are with somebody or not. Either if you celebrate it or not.
Enjoy as any other day!!
ALL OF YOU!!

Thats not romance! thats sex! thats all valentines day is, im sure the furry handcuffs and lubricants have been flying off the shelves! 8O
im going to be semi single this v-day, due to my boyfriend being an insensitive asshole that i hate right now! :D i suggest everyone single takes the money they WOULD spend on a present and buy themselves something nice with it!

What a brilliant idea!!! :)
Yeah, if you believe in Valentine but don't have a Valentine, buy yourself a nice present and love yourself more on the 14th of February than any other day in the year!!
If you don't believe in Valentine, buy yourself something nice and love yourself anyway like any other day...

Personally, I think that Valentine's day shouldn't be about demonstrating the extent of your love by how much you spend - that's where the commercialism has made it go wrong. Kinky sexual adventures are fine, and can be part of the fun, but plastic handcuffs aren't exactly kinky...or anything else (except pointless). Grrrr
As for loving yourself, I guess that if you can do that it's quite healthy (as long as you don't love yourself TOO much LOL), but I'd be happy with being able to LIKE myself a bit...(Goth! 8O :D )

ah well the extend of my self love varies, i found a healthy amount of self hate/loathing works wonders too from time to time ;)
quite seriously though who could in their right mind say that they either love or hate themself all of the time?

Hey peeps some really thought provoking stuff thanks, like the idear about getting your self something nice, I'm happy with the fredom that being single brings, its just the 14th feb reminds you of what you don't have.
A word of caution, a mate of mine ODed on shrooms she was tripping for 4 days, couldn't hold a thought in her head and was very distressed. Just because there natural doesn't mean there safe, so be carful not to over do it.

... anyway i was pondering and i am still not sure if it should go ahead as it might cause a bit of a problem if i have to go into the office - labret.
if i can put a retainer in that is almost invisible it should be okay and i seriously hope i dont have to go into the office for a good number of weeks ... but who knows

Ah labretes are good (me = x3). Pain to look after while they are healing though.
Clear retainers do help it become less visable ... from a distance , but it just looks ilke a clear visible piercing at any closeness (I dont know if people who do not approve of such things would give it any distinction).
As for office rules , well I guess im lucky in that respect ... It helps not to be customer facing ...

sometimes its possible to nearly completely hide a labret from view, just as long as you have a large lower lip!! dno how to xplain it but my lower lip curves over slightly and hides my labret almost entirely if i keep small jewellery in it. it also may help to pierce at a 1.2 mil instead of the regular 1.6, smaller jewellery, less visible! :D unfortunatly i didnt stop with the ears and face piercing, iv got a lot of weird scars from body piercings now
go for it snowwy, sod the office!

yes, i find it confusing too especially that it looks as if The Legenday Pink Dots are playing on the same weekend as well... lots of confusion
also it could not be like any normal three floor as it seems that Resistance will occupy the first floor - extremely confusing but no matter what, unless i catch bubonic plague i will try to be there.
