These are friends of mine who are the band Mandrake, and share gigs with my band, Knollwit, occasionally at various events. One of which is the annual Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball here in California which draws people and professional artists (including Brian Froud and the Henson family) from all over the world. http://www.labyrinthmasquerade.com

Their band website is http://www.mandrake.bz/ The two women do classical finnish, goth with a worldly sound (trying to best describe it), and original pieces that are hauntingly beautiful. I highly recommend purchasing their cd to get the rich full sound of what they are capable of. They are not very famous over here in the US, but have a generous following here and much respect in Finland, and so I just wanted to help spread the word.

Then I shall buy all their albums....but only because the dark haired one looks vaguely shaggable (hard to be sure from the pics on their web-site though).
I'll also buy the DVD when it comes out. And go to the inevitable movie spin-off.
...and change my appearance so I look like a Mandrake clone.
...and then probably end up stalking them.

Anyway, the dark haired one reminds me of Liv Tyler and Kelly Brooke. Which isn't a bad thing! It's quite beautiful music. Kind of like Clannad.

Glad you like it though. Unfortunately their site's samples do not even come close to what they're capable of, but it may be better than nothing. I'll ask them when they plan on putting up all the site info. They haven't updated it in awhile and they've done alot.

Hmm, free sex is good...in a loving relationship. Hehe.

As for the samples, they're pretty good. The trouble with samples is they suffer from mp3 compression (although it's hardly noticeable when compared to CD Audio) and they never give the full picture. But then again, you can never get a full picture without putting on many of the samples...
