it was last summer at some point and slimelight was packed out and it was not at pleasant as it could have been...

... i dont like the cruxshadows anymore since i have seen them live at wave gothic treffen in germany last year... maybe cos they stood in for not getting into the venue where feindflug played but non the less, gothic cheersleaders! indeed!

if you missed them you can still catch them performing a live illegal gig in the kentish town public toilets today at 5pm [until the police arrives, i suppose]. the public toilets by the 'bull & gate'.

The last time I went to slimes was in..... January? yes, must ahve been, right after new year. Soooooooooooooo long ago. Miss it more than anythign else. There are no goth clubs in my area and no clubs with dance cages, so where's the fun in that? I'll be back at slimes again when i can get some money. possibly next month.

I haven't been to Slimelight, I live in Florida, U.S. - I am going to be in London the weekend of Nov 5th and I was looking for goth clubs and I found slimelight.

I am really confused on the door policy. I mean I definitely fit the dresscode, that's a norm for me.
I mean in FAQ's though it says that you don't have to be signed into the club as long as you follow dresscode - but then some other post in July says you have to been signed in.

I will be so disappointed if I can't get into the door. I'm really looking forward to going.

Slimelight is primarily a members only club, altho that rule has been extended to include allowing those in who look the part.

At the moment the members only rule has been a bit further enforced again, so yup, you'll more than likely have to get signed in by a member...but to be honest as long as you're dressed as you'd expect for a goth/industrial club (i.e. in black ;)), you'll be fine. Just ask someone in the queue if they'll sign you in, most people will be more than happy to do so :)

finally i´v been there as well last saturday:

1. i appreciated the 3 floors to change your (style of )dance, but
2. what was the significant difference between flor 2 and three?
3. the light bulb beings were very interesting, to watch, like jesters somehow - i liked it, though
4. they indicated what was a bit wrong with the music, sometimes i felt like being in my local town disco or like not having smoked the stuff which makes you move in this trance, mediation, somewhat way
5. the quantity of german music played ( an which constituted the "heavier" part) made me consider to undertake a trip to the teutonic country this summer...
6. it´s expensive, especially if it ´s cold outside (-> lots of garments) but i don´t mind that
7.the track "die deutschmaschine lebt" made the austrian in me really giggling away

2nd floor is a mix of various "softer" electronic stuffs, while 3rd floor is "harder" electronic stuff. There is some overlap occasionally, depending on the DJ and the time, like my pal Nathan noted that curiously there was same song playing at both 2nd and 3rd floor at the exact same time too last weekend.

The difference might not be apparent if you primarily appreciate trad goth though. :D

I went for the first time this saturday ^·^ I had such a cool time :D :D
I probably looked like an idiot (especially when I was playing with glowsticks and stuff... people said I was good at it but I think they're lying) but I didn't really care :P
Hopefully going again soon :) don't know when yet though.

I was there for the first time on saturday and it was even better then I excpected!! I met many really friendly people and the music upstairs was fantastic!

I met some members at the dev a few days earlier also and when they said they have been to slimes every saturday for years I was thinking that they must be crazy to go to the same club over and over - now I understand ;)

I think I have to move to London.

This is my first post here. I live in Los Angeles. I go to a club in Hollywood called Perversion. I visit London often, but have never been to Slimelight. I'll be in London again the first week of April and Slimelight is on the top of my list of things to do. I've been reading the fourms here and appreciate the wit and insights offered.

listen to loads of industrial and dress accordingly

go to slimelight, just keep going and go to the smaller gigs too such as xotox in camden underworld (i think its the underworld) soon.

spend a lot of time just dancing like an idiot.

talk to anyone and everyone (none of us bite - the smoking area is a good place to start a conversation with complete randomers) i know that will be hard if your shy but tbh its the only way of meeting people.


i meet new people every week, just keep going and talking in the end you'll end up knowing people, its the only club ive ever found you can get away with that in

sounds like crap advice but its all i did and i've met plenty of people at slimelight. i don't have to worry about who is going just have to show up and there is always someone i know there.

Well you should just come along, it's the best way to meet people, a variation in music, depending on how many floors are open, so just come along and enjoy; I'm there every week ;-)

I think the "pre-slime" scene has died, some people still go to the Devonshire Arms in Camden, some to the Intrepid Fox (nr Tottenham Court Road I think) but tbh I would just get to Angel tube station about 11:45 and follow the freaks :eek:

I went to Slimelight on 26/01 and it was my first time. (Thanks god it didn't hurt :D)
I was with my bf on a week end trip in London, and before we left France we searched on Google a goth club to have fun on saturday night. Well, I'm more into post-punk and deathrock stuff but I really appreaciated the place and the night was so good :) Is there batcave parties in Slimelight sometimes or just electro music?
The kind of factory where the parties are set, the various floors and - of course - the cages give the place a very attractive atmosphere. I'll be back!

There is a camera ban in Slimelight, so you can't really find many pics around.

I've only been 4-5 times and that is always after seeing a band there e.g. Screaming Banshee Aircrew, Elusive etc.

Although I like EBM I don't like it enough to go Slimelight if there is no Trad floor on the same night.

Been there once in that smokey alley next to the dubstep party with a radioactive symbol flashing on a jeep in front of it May this year. Got in by myself, as the bulky gentleman at the door wouldn't allow my not-dressed-in-black friends to go in. It's pretty much about beating the eardrums till one's brain gets buzzing all the week long and feeling like one's in a cyberpunk flick. The most extreme outfits I have seen, I must say, and a few good-looking petit pale chicks. Simply makes much more sense than mainstream society.

Went for the first time with a mate on New Years Eve.

What an insanely cool club! The music was great, the variety was great, the environment was great... this is what makes London an amazing city.

I'll definitely be coming again.
