View Full Version : -+-+-SEEKING INDUSTRIAL REMIX OF tATu SONG-+-+-

I am desperately seeking a INDUSTRIAL-EBM-FUTUREPOP-NEOGOTH-wtf remix of ANY song made by russian pop duo t.A.T.u.... please help, sounds crazy to me that no dj ever thought about remixing one of their songs.
I hate and despise all pop music, but t.A.T.u.
I don't like their sound, it's too cheesy, but their voices, the lyrics and the look fascinate me. I don't feel ashamed for this
everytime I listen to songs like "not gonna get us" I think... damn, would take so little to make out of this song a great alternative hit. if they only would add more electronica and be more aggressive
ok, kick me if you want. help me if you can

Monsieur Rivetmike is probably the one to ask as what he doesn't know about Industrial in general would fit onto the back of a postage stamp...a very small one.
I like Tatu, but probably for very different reasons.

Fuck the Charts! It's all politics anyway... only the internet provides an avenue for true talent to be heard. Plus the price you pay for "legitimate" music is still one of life's great rip-offs.

Not strictly true. There's a excellent article on the subject by Kyronfive (reviews editor of IndustrialNation) here...barring the fact that the article is actually on a record label's site (albeit a small industrial label)

So, do you do your job for free as well? Which is what pirates expect of artists.
Personally, I have been known to download or get copies of stuff, but generally if I like a track or two, I will then purchase the album.
And hey, you can even pay for individual downloads, although being deprived of broadband, I haven't looked to see if you can d/l anything decent.
As for fake lesbians, my attitude is the same as it is to art, if it looks good, it is good

That's pretty much my attitude. I know that if I buy the CD, the artist has more incentive to produce more music I like.

Fake lesbians....
Generally they are sad attention seeking little girls whom...if you leap on..run shit scared away..saying "i was only experimenting"
Interesting....what's more fun is if you find one that really really ISN'T a lesbian...or at least they don't think they are, then you "wake 'em up"
They are always so ...grateful...;)

I've bought more music than ever before thanks to file-sharing. Can hear more things and am more confident to buy on assumption.
However it must be made clear that music did not start off as a way for people to make money.

True, but when you invest the amount of time and money that it takes to make a record (or CD as it is now), you deserve to be compensated, much as in the way people get compensated for any other form of work they do. After all, medicine and nursing did not start of as a way to make money, but you would not advocate not paying Dr's or nurse, would you?

This point is especially pertinent to myself at the moment as I am considering investing Å2000 in a laptop dedicated to music. (Essential if we are ever to perform live)

It does annoy me when people don't realise how much equipment costs...my PC, amps, effects, basses and guitars didn't just materialise from out of the ether. And don't get me start on the cost of studios / mixing facilities.... We are talking serious money here, aren't we?

We are talking serious money here, aren't we?
PC - Å1000
Real Sound Card Å150
Synth - Å800
Mixing desk - Å300
FX - Å200
Monitors (speakers to the uninitiated) - Å200
Software - Å500
Guitar - Å400
Sampler - Å1000
Total - Å4500
That is just for a "project" studio. And that is buying at the cheaper end.
Having said all that, if we never even release a single, it was worth every penny (except the sampler, which I rarely use, and is now worth Å200 second hand!!)

Good argument :) But I guess it's to what degree you consider it 'work'.
I do music as well and yes equipment is expensive, and I resigned myself to the fact that the only way to get it is by doing a day job and saving long and hard. To be realistic, whether file-sharing existed or not there is little money to be made on a CD given other people's cut of the profit - playing live is where the money is these days. I'm all in favour of music I've been involved with (prog/tech metal, probably of no interest to most people here) being shared despite the availability on CD, it's the best free promotion there is and has led to gig offers, new friends, interviews etc. that would never have come to light. So I'm quite positive about it even as a musician.

Good point, free advertsing.
I think though, there is a line that shouldn't be crossed. That review that Guy posted said it well, the difference between music lovers, who may well d/l the odd track, but if they like stuff, buy the album, and serial d/lers, who just collect the music, and don't want to pay for anything.
