I have noticed that many artists who play live at Slimes say what a great crowd we are, yet not once have I ever seen a live track recorded at Slimes on any CDs. The top floor especially has had some really good sets by well known artists who could of made use of the sound desk to make a live recording. Is this something you, as the Slime-going CD-buying public would like to see? Alternative, what about a Slimes live compilation CD?

i don't object to the idea as such, i think it would be kool to own a cd from a concert i was in (^_^) but i'm not sure about the sound quality of a live cd from slimes :P

Normally the live sound (for anything other than fairly simplistic rhythmic stuff) is not too great at Slime (IMHO disclaimer, obviously ;)) there are tracks out there on CDs that have been recorded at Slime though (Galan Pix spring to mind maybe some other will later).

I know what you mean. I think if it comes off the sound desk, then it should sound OK. Half the problem at Slimes is that the building has really bad acoustics and makes an otherwise good live mix sound messy.

I think you might be referring to the one DJ Steve runs on www.live365.com.....?
It's not stuff recorded live at Slimelight more a set of what you might hear if you came.

I can't stand the venue they used. Talk about sterile and cold, that venue is an absolute atmosphere killer. And don't even get me started on the drinks prices...

no i was referring to what the people on the german industrial live radio and irc channel said. i spoke with a couple of people like Shnarph and X- Fusion and they suggested playing at slimelight sometime but also said they would like to do a live broadcast on the evening via interweb radio.
aparently they have got all their own gear, so no worries apart form the internet connection at slimelight ;)
live internet radio would be great like the german lot do, the good thing is that you can actually chat with whoever is Djing at the time via irc or icq and its not coming from a tape
:D
