Should metal & fetish clubs run side by side?

Despite Perversion & Sanctum being a resounding success on Friday night, it seems that many of the people attending Perversion were on the receiving end of aggressive behavior and pissed up metallers staring all night at / groping female attendees and generally being a drunken pain in the arse! :(

I am now of the feeling that these two clubs should be completely seperate!

Thoughts anyone??

hmm. Not sure. I've only been to perversion once, not this weeks, and I thought the mix of people was unnusual, but I guess I was comparing to slimelight. While I thought some people were there just to leer, I didn't see any trouble. I like the combo though because It will allow me to bring some friends out clubbing in my night world whilst allowing them to enjoy themselves, because I suspect they won't like the idea of and/or the music of perversion (or slimelight). If there is trouble they probably ought to stop people moving between the two, like they do on saturdays.

Yeah, the combination seemed to work for the first few nights, but having talked to metallers, they seem to be saying that they certainly don't want to miss it, as there are loads of girls scantilly clad in rubber etc. to leer at!

I certainly saw quite a few on the Perversion floor just sitting and staring, or flailing about and hastling girls!

This has always been an issue at mixed club nights as far back as I can remember (Planet Earth at Limelight was notorious for trendies coming up from downstairs drunk to look at the girls in rubber), but I think the benefits of variety outweigh the negativity as long as it's kept under control by the staff. If you get hassled, see a bouncer.

I doubt the event would be able to continue without running in combination; neither the metal club scene nor the fetish club scene could easily support the capacity that Electrowerkz needs.

Actually I remember going to a couple of Jet Black & Bleached nights in the Electrowerkz when it was practically empty (hmm...maybe I just arrived late). Very odd. You do need a good crowd to fill it up.

Then there was the dwarf porn episode when the Church of Bob was held there, but I probably shouldn't go into that :?

Well, it seems to me that Perversion is now over-run by metallers. I personnally, didn't get any hassle, but plenty of girls did. There were many people there that just said they wouldn't go again, so I think the negativity just outweighed the benefits.

Even Fad seems to have had some issues!!

Perhaps the metal club organisers should sort out some pole dancing for the metal club (Sanctum) ... problem solved!! :mrgreen:

Last time I went my girlfriend got groped by one of the metallers and when she had a go at him he thought it would be a good idea to push her down the stairs.
If this sort of thing is happening every week then they should definitely separate it.
