View Full Version : Xotox and last night at Slimelight.

After the most brilliant performance of Ms Gentur, which was much appreciated and enjoyed and the following mostly noise night, which was equally appreciated, last night's slimelight top floor has managed to put itself into my book of good club nights at spot number one!

not only was Xotox outstanding, but the Djing before and after left me in noise heaven. time flew and before i knew it, it was 7:30 on the morning after the night when the clocks go back as well...

good to see that so many industrial people...

cannot wait for Monolith now :D

okay, shall go and nurse my blisters, as 10 hours of solid dancing has taken its toll on the feet ;)

I second that.Last night was really good fun the one drawback was that Xotox put on such a good gig that I was fair knackered after them.

i found that xotox played arather short set. but then i didnt make it to ms gentur and well, hocico is a big band and so they were expected to play a longer set than xotox. i danced like a monkey, i don't know why but i just loved everything on the top floor last night. i now confider myself a dedicated upstairs person, and i'm proud of it. the middle floor just doesnt compare, too many untalented djs :P

Unfortunately, in Hocico's case, a long set didn't mean a particularly good set.

ah well, i need to invite you down to brighton, so you can learn to fear the curse of untalented Djs...

to be fair i think the DJs are good at slimelight but they just dont always play the music i would like to hear.

i wish that we could have a syth and future pop free saturday every saturday not to mention trance and other atrocities, which seem to slip onto the turntables from time to time....

okay if we cannot have to EVERY saturday... how about every OTHER saturday?

please?

*begs* ;)

yeah but you didnt witness the most random song change evah in the middle floor in slimes on sat. i mean, industrial strength soylent grun followed by 'sparrows and nightingales' by wolfsheim? i like both, but not one after the other. did the dj not know about COMMANDO ?! but then i was told that said dj was a complete moron with no personality. this seems to be the case for most middle floor dj in my opinion. i still enjoy steve slimelight's sets tho :P

A whole night of noize? If they pander to your whims, I hope it's on a Friday. I like noize, but a whole night of it would get too much!

When we (me & Flux) went to a noize night at Slime a few months ago, we left half way through Alec Empire's set because we were just "noized out!"

xotox were good but too quiet - they did have a little difficulty with some of the sound during the sound check - on the whole they were good but not as good as WGT!

Hope everyone that survived from 430 - 630 enjoyed my set - cheers to all who didnt leave the dancfloor- you guys truely rock! ...i will be back....

you MUST come back.. i didnt leave the dancefloor all night.. apart from the moments when my body said i should or else... so i had 5 minute breaks and drink ;)

i have got no idea who DJed before you but you made this lil noisewhore a very happy bunny indeed ;)

so cheers for that :D

Xotox was from where i stood plenty loud enough but i suspect it was a different matter slightly further away but i dont like the tinitus after a gig or the need to shove earplugs into my ears just to be able to get out okay and not suffer total deafness at old age....

yeah, not sure what wrong with today's youth and rivets... i think we need more noise to toughen them up, all that future pop has made them soft...

http://www.brainyencyclopedia.com/encyclopedia/f/fu/futurepop.html

uplifting music? what do they mean? it sounds bad and wrong!!!! the man needs more anger, harshness and plenty of german word snippets to cure him....
....nurse snowwy will see to that ;)

I'm kind of relieved about that as I couldn't go to the London show as my friends (who I love very much  ) were getting married on the same day and I'd be asked to DJ the reception. Now I won't be resentful that I missed a fantastic show.

It was an amazing night, repeatedly i felt like collapsing but the music just kept me going somehow. The xotox set was mindblowing, and the zagube shouting made me laugh as well =).
I'm still exhausted - hopefully i will be recovered by the 13th, when i'm there next.
Oh yeah and this as you may notice is my first post, but i hope to write a lot more later =).
