Went to Slimes last night and had a fun night again. They played a remix of Depeche Mode's "Only When I Lose Myself" which I love. Does anyone know the name of the remix?
Thx :)

Thanks :D
You clearly have a pretty impressive music knowledge (saw some of your other postings).
Just recently been getting into EMB type stuff but struggling with the different names for each style. Would you this track deep dark progessive?!

Erm....thanks,like Snowwy says though I have to for my work.
I'd always thought that DM mix was more housey than any industrial/elektro genre, certainly at the harder end of house tho'.

I'm afraid I would have to disagree with you here Mr Mike. there is no way I would say that mix was hard. (When I think hard house, I think of Andy Farley & Paul Glazby, they do some, what I would term, "hard" house)
I always thought it was a bit technoey myself, and definitely at the softer end.
*shrugs* amazing how people differ on things. I always think "hard" means dark dirty nasty sounds, but I knew quite a few people (both in the metal and dance scene) who equate hard with fast.

I see what you are saying.I guess what I was trying to say was it was harder house music rather than "hard house" which is a different entity entirely.....if you see what I mean.
But honestly I don't know about this one I guess it's open to interpretation.
I do know that it's not included on the recent DM remix anthology though :(.

Makes perfect sense to me.

Hiya Mike...I'm intereseted. What exactly do you do career-wise since you mentioned you needed the knowledge of music for it?
It's just I'm involved in persuing a career in the industry. I have quite a few avenues I would like to consider. Just that I didn't know you were into it more than just a fan of certain music.
Cheers :)

I do buying for a CD warehouse.I do all the indie buying (everything from punk to black metal).Small stroes (not the likes of HMV etc.) in turn buy from us so we have to make sure we have what people want.
I'm not in a band or have a clue about producing music if that's what you hoped ;),but if that's the kinda thing you are interested in I managed to blag with a media studies A level and loads of enthusiasm.
