Hi,
I've never been to Slimes before but I know people who have been and still go.
I've been wanting to go for ages but I just can't seem to get the confidence to go!
I keep getting my friends wanting to take me but alas I am too shy!
When I say I'm too shy to them they don't fucking believe me lol, I know I would most likely enjoy it and want to come back again but it's just getting myself to go in the first place...
So what should I do?!
PLEASE HELP ME TO GET MYSELF TO GO!

I notice you started this thread back in January, so I don't know if you've since managed to drag yourself up to Slimes?
I am a really shy person too, so I know what you mean, exactly. Slimelight is probably one of the few places I have ever been and instantly felt relaxed/at home. The people are, on the most-part, friendly and VERY accepting, so you'll feel fine once you get there. Even Fad's not so bad really :lol:
Why don't you just let your friends persuade you one week, you won't regret it! I expect they'll show you around/introduce you to people, but if they won't, I will!
Just no dancing 'round your hadbag in white stilettos, OK? :wink: 8O :wink:

1. Don't use glowsticks
2. Don't give a rats arse what the trad goths think of me
3. Avoid buying clothes in Camden like the plague
4. Don't maintain a live journal or have any website of my own
5. Have no problem with my social skills as my friends will tell you
6. Do not huddle round anyone, especially a tall cybergoth
7. Do not live in the toilets
8. Think taste in music & style is relative.
9. Believe that there are genuinely nice people in Slimes to make friends with
10. Have never met DJ Steve

who is Dj Steve? and have you read my post about needing clean toilets.. gowd i hate the filth in those toilets and only ever go there is i abosolutely HAVE TO -like changing my tampons... argue with that mister!!!
hmmm maybe i am lacking in self awareness but i have got friends who i relate to outside of slimelight and call my friends Kite and Guy even being somewhat close friends... nothing plastic about that....
but then again
I am not a goth
and i dont mean it in the oooh iam so gothy if i deny it way... i cannot stand either trad goth, nor metal or rock and i cannot sing along to every sisters of mercy song either....
i may be fat, though some people disagree with that, i also do not pressurise people inot taking drugs... i dont think slimelight is a good place to pressurise people into drug usage anyway.
glowsticks... ah well, i got some, i call them my glowstickles but i am not doing the nambi pambi style wave them a bit about, i do it in an insane way, hopefully on the edge and mostly to power noise as i am a bit of a noisehead. my glowstickling has been deliberately fotographed by total strangers as they thought it was entertaining and unusual... so two fingers up to you and your generalisation of everybody... i hate you too anyway ;)
as for my outfits, i have neither got any band t-shirts or any item other than once, one set of glowsticks, from cyberdog but to be honest, i prefer cyberdog cladded spooky kids to some of the older generation, "iam gothier than yow cos i was 23 when Ian Curtis killed himself and i wept on his grave", type of trad people... nothing wrong with you being a trad goth and knowing every sillable of every Sisters Of mercy song but i simply prefer Feindlug and Winterkaelte to them...
on the other hand, i have offered to a total stranger who admitted to being too shy to go to slimelight, to introduce them and to be nice to them, as opposed to our lovingly antagonistic old skool 4 eva goth friend.
how about if you do what you can do best - mope around in corners avoiding to be sociable and contemplate which type of suicide was the most effective and let us social retards get on with our plastic activity, which we enjoy so much in replacement for real depth and brain activity...
