What are your thoughts on a three-way relationship?
Similar to the sex threesome but also all having a relationship with each other.
Eg. 1st girl goes out with guy
2nd girl goes out with guy
1st girl goes out with 2nd girl

This is polyamory I believe?
I know some people who have tried it, but human nature seems to be geared to one-one relationships - the relationships never seem to last for any length of time as people tend to 'pair off'

that is true, but i think it would be interesting to have a nothing-serious relationship with my girlfriend and someone else. just for a bit of fun really.
You see, life can get so boring, the only way to make it interesting again is to fuck with society!

I think that a threesome can work OK, if you have a strong relationship with your partner and real trust, but it's when it comes to polyamory - the three-way EMOTIONAL relationship, that problems seem to occur.

do you know from experience, or just guessing?

As I mentioned above, from experience (people I know who have tried it).

fair enough
I'm not speaking from experience here, just observations that I have made thus far in my stay on this mortal coil;
Can't say the idea of a three way relationship does anything for me at all...nor does an open relationship or anything similar.
As you say it's ok if it's just for "a bit of fun" but the problems start as soon as there are any emotions thrown into the mix, which there inevitably will be cuz as Crash said, it's human nature.

I personally can't see the problem with it if it were to stay purely physical (as everything seems to get a little more complicated when emotions are involved). But from observations very few people can pull it off, maybe you are one of these people.
Only thing is that your statement of a "nothing serious" relationship seem at odds with Lemontwists opening statement of actually having a relationship.
Rivetmike
I think the only way to know on this one, is to try it out ... it could be fun!

Nothing much I can add to what's already been said. It can work for a while but then pretty much every polyamory relationship I've seen has "changed" sooner or later; partners fall out of favor or simply move on.
Saying that though, they don't seem to be any less successful than standard relationships. As long as everyone in a polyamory relationship is happy with it, then it's all good.

Well I meant a full relationship, but more for fun rather than for a future. Like when ur young you may go out with loads of girls, knowing that youre not gonna spend the rest of your life with them
kinda thing

Gotcha.Personally I think it would work better if the third (fourth/fifth or more ;)) person was only there for the physical side of things and I would think that spending more time together would only complicate things more.Depends on what part the thrid person you want to play,do you want them to be a part of both your lives or just sex? I think the more involved it gets the bigger the strain on the existing relationship (but what do I know?)

the other person would get hurt more if they were just there for the physical side of things, i know i personally wouldnt like being used 4 sex. it also wouldnt be a full relationship that way - emotions are all part of that. I'd like them to be a part of both of our lives because the interesting thing is getting to know another person together. Quite refreshing.

youre just a pervert arn't you! all you think about is SEX!
You people are weird!! What's wrong with small animals like we used to use back in my day?? Many's the time I'd wind up in the sack with three or four chicks at a time...and if any of them were mature enough you could take care of breakfast at the same time....providing you didn't mind eggs!

i dont do animals personally, but your chicken thing has given me an idea... maybe it would be interesting to have a girl dress up as the kellogs rooster, for sex play :)

Really interesting! I wish I'd taped it. In the end, most of the programmes participants had been sacked from their jobs. It just goes to show how much more narrow minded middle America is. 8O

I personally think that peoples private lives should have nothing to do with their jobs, that is of course unless the work suffers because of it.

They were sacked because their workplace were embarrassed of their practices, nothing at all to do with any loss in productivity.

I agree, but US employment law is iffy at the best of times and downright discriminatry at the worst.

That's you personally, you can't say what another person would or would not like based on your own preferences.I'd say that there are plenty of people who like to be used for sex.Obviously though if you are uncomfortable using someone for sex then a full relationship would be the only way but I'd imagine this to be more difficult.

ewww. that is really quite horrible
I was invited to a threesome once but then I couldn't go as I suddenly remembered that I'd accidentally left my poodle in the micro-wave....and at the time I had this embarassing difficulty with a nugget of sweetcorn to contend with too.

oh dear how very unfortunate!
Threesomes are great tho, if you can find someone that you and your partner are comfortable with. But sometimes even the best of friends arnt compatable sexually as well/

And 'walking right in to' things reminds me of the time I got home to find a hook attached to the rear bumper of my oldsmobile.....
...probably around the time all those successful threesomes were going on!

Flux is a Hot-dog salesman....there, it's out. The thing about killing got a bit confused as what he meant was 'if you consume the product of my job, you will die'...and on saying Hot-dog salesman people inevitably ask for a freebie, thuis resulting in their deaths.
Damn you to hell! The cat's out of the bag now...not that my hot dogs are made with cats you understand. They're too expensive. I prefer using rats. Plus they give the hot dogs that "authentic" taste.
