I for one find it difficult meeting people when i go to slimelight because the noise and my hearing problem make it impossible to talk to others (i'm also shy). Unfortunately i'm unable to go to Starbucks afterwards because i have to get back for work :(
i think it would be a good idea if a forum was added on this site especially for making new friends (or more then friends) it would make things easier as we could talk on here, get to know a little about each other then arrange to meet somewhere. Making things easier the next time we're at slimes.
Of course some might say that you get to know people through the posts already on the site but to find out more it often involves changing the subject....
Anyone else back my idea?

I have met more people through gossiping/talking crap on this website in the last month at Slimes than years of going to Slimes and sitting there like a wallflower. :roll:

I've also met a few people from talking to them on this site, some of whom are now good friends (you know who you are! ;) :))
PM's are always a good idea as is the shoutbox.

This 'meeting people' thing...
The trouble is, you're expecting to turn up, see people that you know and instantly be the life of the party. Meeting people is easy - Just walk up to them and say hello. Say anything. But actually making friends is different. You need to take in interest in people.
If you meet someone interesting, talk to them. If you find something in common (or at least something that you can remember about them), then you have an instant conversation topic next time you're at the club and you bump into them. Make notes on your PDA or on bits of paper if you have to, and it helps.
And THEN, next time you see them and are talking to them about whatever it was, they might introduce you to a SECOND person. Now you have two people to bump into next week!
If you think this is obvious advice, it is. But goths tend to suck at it - It's part of what makes them goths! Break out of the mould and get out there.
