So I can finally post and see the ones from a few weeks ago finally surfaced ..after I left London :rolleyes:

Anyway couldn't see a thread, so to ask who is going to Infest this year?

Yep, I'll be there... really looking forward to it although there's no way it'll be a patch on last year. I've booked off a couple of days afterwards to put my head in a bucket of ice too!

I didn't know any of the bands on the first time that I went, and it was still an awesome event. The venue is great although there were some long, silent pauses last year due to various gremlins. I have faith that it's gonna be a total beast of a fest.

Uh....

Well, in 2005 the accommodation was good but basic (shared loos etc) standard halls-of-residence fare. And I was more than happy.

2006 (can't remember name of halls tho) On-suite bathroom (no jacuzzi tho, I'm afraid) and nice big rooms with large shared kitchen area.

I think the festival must be a pretty good money-spinner for the Uni so they could get this great building!

Who knows what little luxuries they can afford this year!

Oh yeah, it is still the murder capital though (or maybe now at the coveted number 2 slot)

Still: kitchen parties!! Yay!!

Dunno what DC is... I've seen youtube vids from an infest kitchen from a couple of years ago, but if I'm in a newer one I'd love to know!!

Nope... I wasn't there. Whatever.. I must have a double, I've almost been not let into slimelight because I look like someone who was banned, and recently a couple who know me quite well swore blind I was at some afterparty where I definitely wasn't.

don't think I'm on youtube either, that's an older clip. But still, I'll have to look for that one!

I hear Caustic puts on a good show, just watch out for flying douches.. literally. I was looking forward to seeing him and 13th Monkey. I did have everything booked as well, was about to send off deposit for accommodation when everyone suddely pulled out. Bastards. Instead I'm going to Newquay to swim in the water with the Great White's. Yay!

Next year though.. muahaha!

Yup... is that unprecedented? at my first Infest in '05 I had tickets but no accommodation, and there were people there queing for tickets on the friday night (although they all said that accommodation needs to be sorted in advance!). This time I was really keen to get those nice halls. Glad I got it sorted nice and early.

well done them for selling out... I maintain that it's a nicely organised event and they deserve success.

When I turned up at 10PM on the friday night, on my own due to GAH circumstances, one of the ushers found me a room and escorted me back to the venue when I was ready to party. You just don't get that sort of attention to detail at most british events in this scene... I have loads of horror stories of bands, merchandisers and customers having the most horrendous experiences at gigs and festivals.

And last year's infest was just brilliant.

I don't go for the music. It's for the parties, dirt cheap booze and catching up with people I know from all over the country. They do actually have a couple of decent goth DJs too.

After years and years of constant head banging, fooot pounding, ear damaging, speaker hugging, bottle emptying, dwellem munching and been banded from most night clubs in SA! So...With this extensive experience of 15yrs or so I've come to the conclusion that when Infest is on... Slimes has been full of everybody that cant be asked to go though the hassle of getting everything ready for Infest! Glow sticks?... check!... Poppers?...check!...UV cloths?...check!...exr...exr...AaaaaaRRh!:D

Cheers fella. T'was a wikkid weekend, lotsa peeps, great stunts, amazing atomsphere and superb tunes (;)). Think we played a total of about 7.5 hours each day and we loved every minute of it :)

Antagonist - Like I say, had tried to engage in some convo with one or two peeps and they just kinda went *blank look*. No, it wasn't "hello there, nice paps" or anything like that neither ;) Generally, it was convo born out of politeness like "I think they two were in the Q before me, serve them first...".

You were very close to me at Apop. Hope to be at Slimes this year sometime.

Fenbane - I think many came ...and went, to the bottom floor party. I didn't venture out of there apart from to my own place on the 4th floor. Think the other party was on the 3rd?

That'll be because festivals attract mostly couples. I've had to endure many festivals while single and surrounded by attractive couples.

I'm glad I didn't get a "cos Infest is not the type of festival you pull at." That would really give me the thought many think it's all about the dressing up in £300 worth of clothes to mince about in ;) whilst looking down the nose at everyone like me, with my red space invader cyberdog t shirt on.

Depends on what you're looking for. I generally don't look for one-night stands. :p
