I don't know about anyone else, but I have to have either music or a movie playing when I go to sleep. I have quite a few films in my list already but I wondered if anybody could suggest some more for me. They don't have to be boring films, just anything that you've seen so many times you can sleep to!

Some of mine are listed below:
Aliens
The 13th Warrior
Ferris Buellers Day Off
Apocalypse Now Redux (that extended bit with the French always get me!)
The Lost Boys

Any help would be much appreciated :D

I absolutely cannot sleep if there is music playing or film going, unless I am really really tired. So can't help there.

If we are just going on films that we've seen the most times mine would probably be:

Casablanca
Blade Runner
Highlander
Zulu
Enemy at the Gates
The Longest Day
Mary Poppins

Although the single best "falling asleep movie" for me would be The Godfather Part 2, I've never made it past the first half hour without dozing off.

Ooh, I like the sound of Enemy At The Gates, and I have it on DVD. I might try that tomorrow night... Godfather Pt. II is a favourite of mine and would tend to keep me awake more than anything.

Thanks dude!

falling asleep to films seems to result in shallow sleep for me, which means I fare pretty badly the next day. I do like the way that it can mess with your head though, when you're nearly awake but still dreaming?

Doze through the following for headtrip fun:
Fear and loathing in Las Vegas
Super Troopers
Time bandits
2001
2046
Solaris
Lost Highway

In fact I think there's a certain weirdness in films that triggers my sleep button... Either that or I'm a glutton for head-mess punishment.

Last night was Withnail & I, but as I leave for work so early I have no idea if it messed with Anxty's head because she was still fast asleep... and looking well hot too. Damn my early start times :D

Well you will know if she starts demanding the finest wines known to humanity.

I'm sure she'd be happy with a pair of large scotches and two pints of cider... but then probably wake up "feeling like a pig shat in my head"!

You just gotta love Withnail! Especially as there's that one scene filmed in my home town of Stony Stratford! Surely a great film to doze to, but a better film to hang on till the end for.

So true Anxty, I'll pick something a bit crapper to fall asleep to next time... maybe see how you deal with some Tim Burton (muhahahaha).

I watched "The Last of the Mohicans" again on Tuesday.

Fell asleep later with the immensely stirring soundtrack music going round my head and dreamt of striking improbably heroic poses on the wild frontier.

I'm exactly the same. Currently I'm being woken up every morning at 6am by some fucking rubbish tweeting bird outside :(

Altho saying that, I can sometimes sleep to music. Usually on the train, lol. I especially like ElectroniCAT - ElectroniCAT. It is warm & fuzzy ;)

I'm like that with Aphex Twin (the ambient stuff) and Zero 7. Very nice to doze off to. Having to get the train at 6am every morning kinda affords me a lot of nap time to music too!

Well, when I actually fall asleep, I'm pretty hard to wake up, so I'm not bothered by tweeting birds.

I envy you that, I wake up at the sound of a pin drop. It was a lot different when I was taking quetiapine though, you could have set a bomb off next to me and I wouldn't have woken up! Stupid new drugs and their stupid new insomnolent properties :D

hmm, surely not a good idea to leave films running at bedtime then? just a thought. ;)

Could explain why I'm in a state of perpetual tiredness at the moment. Maybe I keep waking up loads of times during the night and never get back to sleep properly... interesting. Do I Anxty?

Bah, typical! Plant the seed of doubt and then leave me high and dry just when I need you most. Oh well, I'll have to start recording my actions in bed... in regards to sleep you pervs ;)

OK hunny, you can be quiet on this now... I'm sure the fine folk of Slimelight don't give a damn!

That's right, this thread is about "anything you can sleep to" and it's not fair to change it into "things that make you stay up at night", just like that!!!
But you could always start another thread on that topic. ;p

Ah bollocks to you all :p :D

I slept to Zero 7 last night, it was very nice and relaxing and was still playing when I woke up this morning. I'm feeling nice and chilled today.
