Pan's Labirynth is a film talking about the horrors of human being and shit lots of politics...
Excellent!
Ah, my favourite genre - especially the really cheesy 70s ones! Having said that, I’m struggling with a recommendation, though The Evil Dead trilogy back-to-back is always good. Bits in there even make me look away, feeling ill. Also - Bruce Campell is fab, another reason for a long muchies on the settee fest!
The scariest film ever Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory - that Gene Wilder garbage. Terrifying. Absolutely horrific. I can’t watch that EVER. I had to ask a member of bar staff in The Fab Café, Manchester to turn it off once because it was freaking me out, making me feel sick and putting me off my lager (with lime, cos I am a lady!). I can’t even force myself to watch the Johnny Depp (yum!) one because of it. I do believe you asked for suggestions - I suggest you don't watch that!!! :(

Near Dark... not that scary, but possibly the best vampire film ever made!
Spontaneous Combustion... Again, crap and 80's but will have you taking cold showers for weeks.
Cabin Fever... Relatively new, moderately amusing and has the ability to put that little chill up my spine every time I laugh at it.
The Evil Dead Trilogy... Army of Darkness is pure comedy horror, as are the other two actually, but well worth a watch. Sam Raimi is God and Bruce Campbell is B-movie actor extrordinaire! Which brings us on to...
Bubba Ho-Tep (think that's right)... Pure fucking genius!
Bio-zombie - quality silliness. You know it's gonna be silly from the moment they put the "zombification juice" in a Lucazade bottle! Defo worth a watch.
Stacy - another Japanese zombie flick...only this time when girls hit sweet 16 they fall madly in love and turn into zombies. It's well worth a watch, some nicely twisted comedy going on...especially with the special zombie killing chainsaw...I'll say no more!
Wild Zero - Zombie...movie...Japanese. OMG! It's almost like there's a theme here ;) This movie just defies explaination. Utter, utter genius! Features the Japanese "Jett Rock n Roll" band Guitar Wolf. This movie has EVERYTHING. Zombies, aliens, love, kick ass music...damn, just thinking about it makes me wanna watch it again!
Ghost Ship - A worthy of a watch horror flick about a ship where the entire crew get killed. Ship gets found by someone who hires a team of sea scavengers to go get it. Suffice to say, spookiness ensues.
That should keep you going for now, but I'll try think of some more later.
Just picked up Pan's Labyrinth on dvd (hadn't realised it'd been released today til I saw an ad in the paper)...£13 from Virgin too. Nice :)

If Braindead makes you laugh you have to check out Peter Jacksons earlier aliensploitation splatter flick "Bad Taste". Bloody marvellous!

Not Forgetting "Meet the Feebles"
Awesome sick muppet film!
For real horror, try "The eye" it's a bit creepy and the suicide theme made me cry, but it is pretty scary too.
Can't really top "The Ring" and "Ring 2" even though I did see the remakes. (the same director did all versions)

For Zombie Flicks anything by George A Romero apart from Land of the Dead which I thought lacked pace....
Cabin Fever sucks!! Don't bother...
And The Toolbox Murders is worth a look...
The Audition (Jap Horror) is one of the most toe curling films I've ever seen with an awesome torture scene at the end....
Ooooohh, Gore....

I think Vipco have been re-releasing loads of the old zombie flicks... Zombie Flesheaters 1 & 2, The Zombie Dead etc. And I know other classics like The Last House On The Left and Cannibal Holocaust are now widely available. Thanks BBFC, you finally saw some sense!

Were tha' from Hot Fuzz? Great film!
Watched Big Trouble In Little China last night, forgot about the evil monstery stuff in it, so that can definitely go in the "must be watched comedy-horror" section!
28 Days Later. That's a pretty amazing horror film. I'm sure you've seen it already, but it's worth a second (third, fourth or fiftieth) watch!

Well so far I have watched a few u have all suggested House of 1000 corpses was cool. I have Saw 3 on the couch. Mortuary was gr8, really funny. Avoid at all costs Pulse & especially Live Feed (it was almost a porno advertised as a horror)
