Final countdown!

It has been over 10 years of London where I came because of the job situation in Spain and came back also and very strongly due to the scene...

In my life here, I have gone through different jobs and progressed quite a lot as a person. That is London for you!

Special mention to this city is all this gorgeous courses available to you and I do not only mean Uni... I know little foreigner that has after a while of living here, not undertaken a course that they never thought of being able to do where they came from. I think this is also part of the learning process you undergo in London. You learn more about yourself and then you decide to exploit it and take a route that suits you best in order to feel more comfortable with your life.

For me, the opportunity has come to dip into one big and fascinating world, which is Oriental Medicine. The mysteries and stunning beauty of acupuncture that I found awesome since a kid still hold today that I know slightly more about it(it is such a big pool, that I will never know everything of its marvels) have been revealed in London through the study of Shiatsu...

After that rainy evening in Seville in November 1986 where my friends and I stared at the closed door of "Centro's", I thought I would never in this life find a club that would so perfectly be alternative and gather such a wonderful and unique crowd and provide such freedom of expression and behaviour. The place was know all over the country and people would come from all over to Seville due to its fabulous scene. I thought this would last forever until that evening.

Whilst flirting with the New Beat and Acid House scene, I met the guy who took over the building where Centro's was based, a well known spanish presenter. He was in a club. I approched him and told him off for "stealing" my club. Really I knew this had nothing to do with him, as the cause of it being closed was because it was in a central posh area and the club received many pressures, constantly. However this led to a very interesting conversation and the guy being interested in the scene. After all, he had been interviewed Punks in his unusual programs(http://www.jesusquintero.com/)...

And then came Madrid and its wonderful people after years(7 years) being disconnected to the scene, the capital of the kingdom offered me some hope. Madrid rules and its people are just fantastic. I lived there not for too long but enough for them to welcome me warmly anytime I come back there.

The scene there has changed quite a lot, but is still strong. Noise is weak but I suspect it is going to peak up soon. Decibelio is there for that!! :)Ebm is totally settled and Goth is a classic nobody would dare to forget and omit in the agenda!

And then here, Slimelight.

Slimelight has brought Centro's back to me. So many coincidences. A little street with just a couple of numbers on it...

Slimelight and my courses have kept me here beyond my limits.

It is now time for me to go.

My courses are over and I need to move on to survive life.

A long story.

The 25th of March I will take the plane and leave to throw my face in the sandy beaches of Palma de Mallorca. It is a one way ticket. And very more than likely I will never come back.

Unless Slimelight announces its closure...:(

Not sure I will be doing much clubbing anymore. Instead I will run around the island trying to spot those stunning hidden corners(did a bit of that last year in my one week visit) and taking pics as mad with my new camera!!

It's a club that plays anything from extreme metal to trad goth. I'm not sure where abouts in Palma it is but I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding it. I hope it's still there. It's been 2 years since I've been to Mallorca.

first things first, it'll be very sad to see you go and you'll be sorely missed. slimes is something quite recent to me and i haven't known you for a long time, yet you come across as a wonderful person, always friendly and with interesting things to communicate.
as i wrote you yesterday, i wish there were more people like you around...

but then, one of the first things you learn when you live in london is how everything continuously changes - people come and go so easily, and nothing is fixed in any way. so, when your experience here is over, you just move on.
it can be unsettling, and people who move somewhere else are often much missed, but it's also what makes london so fascinating. you get the good things while they are there, make the most of every moment for what it is, and next time there will be something different to look forward to.

and it's great having nice people to go and see in warmer places isn't it ;)

i'll definitely see you on the 24th at slimes, and hopefully still some more times before you go.
meantime, i'm already queueing for my share of big hugs... so don't let the hectic london rhythms distract you too much from practising :p

Thing is, it will be full of teenagers, people my age hardly ever go clubbing in Spain. You are meant to have settle down, have a good couple of kids, be married, a car, a year round house plus another one in the country side or seaside and... I only have a few platform boots, a new camera, weird cds, some films, a good bunch of reference books... Basically a weirdo to those who are likely to frequent that Disco Loco place, more than likely.

But really I am the most normal bird on the planet, ya know...

As for the fighting, well, I guess I will still come to the forums but there will be more space on Slimelight dancefloor!!;)
