Ay ay Inferno was the sex!!
First time in ages that I've really enjoyed myself there!
The music was wicked and it was a nice mix of people too.
Malachi showed his cheeky pierced face and we all got down with the gothic sickness.... OOOOOOOHHH!!!
I'm considering checking out the "new and improved" Synthetic Culture this month.... If Inferno can pleasantly surprise then maybe, just maybe SC can too.......

Well I have to say that I got talked into going to Synthetic Culture last month for the first time in over a year, as I had stopped going.
My only advice would be that if it's anything like my experience DON'T BOTHER!!
We left the pub reasonably early so that we could get in and have a dance, only to have to queue up outside in the freezing cold for TWO HOURS!! I kid you not, TWO HOURS!! I wanted to fuck off home, but my mate had come over from Greece that weekend and so I felt inclined to suffer it, but most people didn't bother, which meant that the club was empty when we got in. And I mean empty, like about 150 people over three floors!!
The reason we had to queue up for so long? The club has installed airport style metal detectors at the entrance, which means that each person in the queue has to remove all metal items from their person, and put them in a tray and then go through the metal detector. Of course that's fine if you don't have New Rocks, piercings, bullet belts etc etc. Obviously this was the case for most of us in the queue, and so we had to then be scanned by security with a portable metal detector, and explain what all the beeps etc were, which I can tell you if you've got your nob pierced can be quite embarrasing!!
This took about TEN MINUTES per person, which frankly takes the piss, as I have been to clubs like Ministry (I know *Blush*) and they can do this in seconds. The reason is because apparently at one of the other nights a couple of weeks ago somebody bought a gun in to the club and shot somebody, which when you consider the fact that the time before I went to SC they took my chewing gum off me makes me wonder how the fuck somebody managed to get a gun in!
Plus the fact the music was shit beyond belief, and the drinks were extortionate!!
Sorry that's my rant over, as you can probably tell I didn't enjoy my night out.LOL!

I went to the December one where I actually had a really good time but that was only because of the people I was with, the club as a night in itself was a bit pants.
The points you made are the same points me and my friends have been pissed off with in the past, I think these are just things that will never be sorted while the venue is predominantly a trendy venue.
I do think it's a shame that the venue spoils what used to be one of my favourite nights out... I hear there is a new music policy where everything is more clearly divided and evenly spread. Those that went last month said the music worked well but of course everyone had the same problems on the door with the searches and bar prices. Since I wear very little clubbing and don't drink I think I'm gonna brave it and see.... If it's shit I might jump in the car and fuck off to Fright Night which I've been meaning to check out for ages....

I don't see what Synthetic Culture has to do in a thread about Inferno, but I had little trouble there last time. Of course I was there at about half eleven or so, so no queue.
And very few trendies too.

Mmm, I see it's appeal... I guess it all depends on where the gothic sickness takes us....
It's an invisible force.... We are all drawn in....

I used to go to SC on a regular basis many moons ago. It's changed its music policy and swapped the floors around so many times I no longer care what they play these days. From what I understand it was much more succesful before they started changing everything.
If it's not broke then Y fix it?

You don't need to tell me about SC, I used to go when it was full every month and a really excellent night out.
I'm gonna see what this change is all about just so I can make my own mind up....

Well personaly I have been a regular at S.C. for a while and yes like every other Alternative club in London if not the country it has its ups and downs.
I understand the fact that people like to have things stay as they were, but sometimes change can be a good thing and helps to keep the Alternative scene alive instead of just ticking over. Even though sometime Club organisers may get it wrong as do Promoters etc, but without these mistakes then the scene cant learn what people actualy want.
Although I have to ask the question, what hase S.C. got to do with Inferno, as I clicked on this thread because it is named Inferno - 2nd february 2007
