I nearly fell off my chair in laughter when I read that. Serious. U 4got 2 say Nazi 2?! Walt Disney himself was an actual nazi. No joke My boyfriend loves to tell me these trivial truths that make you go oh hmmmmmmmm!

Yes, and I became deeply disturbed.. and aroused. And I have Donald Duck/Mickey Mouse wallpaper, double trouble! (I never decorated when I moved in.)

I do actually own a pair of awfully distasteful mickey & minnie mugs. They were bought for us by a friend. She's not my friend anymore.

Disney's stuff gives people unrealistic expectations of life...it promotes the 'American Dream', and leads to depression and drama later in life, IMHO, when people have to deal with the fact that the world doesn't work that way. Disney takes fairy tales and removes the vestigial reality before spitting them back out in a pink and fluffy format. That, to my mind, is the true evil of Disney. That and the corporate greed, of course.

If Walt was a nazi and tried to indoctrinate kids with it through his cartoons, that would have been bad. It was up to him if he wanted to goose-step about in a brown shirt on his own time, in my view.

2 Fine points...

Disney played a massive part in my childhood though, it was tradition to get the latest animation for Xmas and I used to get so excited about it. When I was off school ill Ma Hag would tuck me up on the couch downstairs with my duvet and hot water bottle and I'd watch Disney films all day to cheer myself up and it worked!!
I used to find it all magical and I'd learn all the songs by heart.
It's gone downhill in recent years though but thats just in my opinion - I think it's sad that CGI is taking everything over. Don't get me wrong I love Toy Story 1 & 2 but I also love a good old fashioned skillfully drawn animation.
Disney's animated Aladdin is still one of the funniest films I've ever seen and Beauty & The Beast one of the prettiest.

I personally have never felt disillusioned because of a rose tainted view given to me by Disney. I hold those films dear to my heart along with Beatrix Potter, The Flower Fairies, The Just So Stories and Roald Dahl.

Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. :rolleyes:

I heard recently that Disney are going to stick with the hand drawn style and leave the CGI to Pixar etc.
