Okay :D But I´m not longer the goth like in the past. Not so extremly because of jobs and this stuff, you know. I started 1984 with the good old ones like: The Cure, Bauhaus, Siouxsie, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Skinny Puppy, Front 242......and that´s what I like still the most. I´m very nostalgic :roll: :D :D

Nothing wrong with being nostalgic...you will find that many people had to change thier looks for jobs and stuff - shame but this is the way the world is... :( I am an oldie too (33) and had to change my looks but what important is what's left on the inside - they can't take this away from you :wink:

Old at 33? I'm 32 and don't feel old (well, most of the time :oops: ). I know waht you mean about having to "adapt" your looks. I work in an office and there is no way I'd keep my job looking the way I did at 18. I still stand out from the "norm" like a sore thumb though.

actualy when they played a joy division track at the local goth club some young gothling asked me who it was... that is exaclty the moment when i feel old.. very very old.. well then and in the mornings when i accidentally see my face in the mirror ;)

Most people nowadays tend to think that Anne Clark Our Darkness is from the mid nineties ( the awful trance-teschnööö version). A DJ I know once played in a club the original version. Some kids came up and said that he should play the original version and not some stupid alternative coverversion of the song.
Another time someone wanted to listen to goth music.
DJ: Sorry, goth was just played, now we play some electro.
Person: What gothic??? Didn't hear any goth..
DJ: Oh come on.. by the way what did you want mo to play??
Person: Some Apop and Covenant. ( fucking stupid Futurepop)

to be honest, i only dance to joy division sometimes... it is boring, they have been around a bit... and i dont automatically dance to bands i know... or liked in the past, i prefer electro bilge to trad goth but i think i would dance myself into oblivion if we had a dedicated electro techno/noise club.....

... maybe good idea for a club actuall... hint hint...

Oh, I love to dance all night. When I go to a club and go straght ahead to the dance floor and leave when it's six o'clock in the morning, then was it a good night for me. :D Okay, a few bad songs for toilet and a new beer :roll:

i think being able to carry cases of beer and other drinks is an artform anyway especially with the floor being sometimes very slippery (or is that my shoes?) and the amount of people who gather round the bar :)

I think people congregate where there is something to congregate AROUND, and the bar is just that. If there are no seats, and they don't want to be on/near the dancefloor, the bar is the next most obvious spot.

It does get annoying though, when you want to get a drink.

yes i did but when i was there, it was gabber all night and not a bit of noise.

my taste has changed a little bit since, as i got a bit bored of techno, we have heard a lot of it lately in slimelight.. oddly enough noise doesnt bore me...

also i got more back into traditional industrial and neofolk... also military pop and EBM .. not the fluffy trance stuff though, the agro/terror (new Combichrist album is good btw)

also i found that sick and twisted was fully of weird guys who drooled over my corset all night and were hard to convince that i REALLY doi not like them to touch me... oh, lets not forget the stinking (literally!) hippy who tried to stand exactly where i was and started to hit me for standing there too - totally unprovoked (yeah hard to believe, what was that bloke on?)

one becomes a member when you have been there and picked up a membership form and got it signed by a couple of members.

which means you have to know a couple of members in order to become a member.

you could try and get a couple of members to sign a "small group" of 4 people in as each member can sign in two guests. so it is possible.

i might be around in camden on saturday depending on a) how bad the hangover is and b) if the brighton gay pride allows an escape route via car ;)

but maybe you can spot me and DerOberst as we are trying to get more stompy boots.... ooooh boots yummmm! ;)

Tourists Can Save Money and the Environment by Hopping on a Duck Bus

London’s tourists can save money and help the environment in a new initiative by the London Wetland Centre to encourage visitors to travel to the 105acre wildlife attraction in Barnes SW13 by public transport.

In an environmental initiative thought to be the first of its kind among London visitor attractions, the London Wetland Centre is offering all adult paying visitors arriving by public transport £1 off the admission charge to the centre. By helping to keep cars off the city’s congested roads and giving visitors money off their admission, the London Wetland Centre is working towards a healthier environment for London.

The campaign was launched by the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, on Tuesday 18th August, with the unveiling of one of 15 newly branded London United ‘Duck Buses’ – the 283 service that runs from Acton (via Hammersmith bus and tube station) direct to the London Wetland Centre. Each bus carries the message ‘travel by Duck Bus to the London Wetland Centre’.

London Wetland Centre Manager, Stephanie Fudge, said of the campaign: “As the UK’s leading wetland conservation charity The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust wanted to offer a real incentive for visitors to come by sustainable public transport. This promotion does just that and with the excellent transport links and fleet of duck buses to the Centre it’s never been easier to enjoy wildlife and wilderness – just hop on the Duck Bus.”

London Mayor Ken Livingstone commented: “This is a great initiative to get more tourists on buses. They are now more popular than they’ve been in the last 50 years and with more routes being introduced across London and greater frequency buses are one of the most convenient choices for people to get around the Capital. With the added incentive of £1 off admission to the Centre I hope more people will choose to leave their car at home and hop on a bus.”

The campaign to encourage visitors to travel to the London Wetland Centre by public transport includes train and tube platform adverts and bus rear and internal panels in addition to branding the fleet of 283 buses.

Our route 283 provides an environmentally friendly alternative to the car for people wishing to travel to the Centre from Hammersmith and the surrounding area."

• The London Wetland Centre was global winner of the BA Tourism for Tomorrow Awards 2001; designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in 2002 and recently described as ‘undoubtedly the best urban site in Europe to watch wildlife’ by BBC Wildlife Magazine.

• The 105acre London Wetland Centre has nationally important numbers of breeding wetland birds and nationally important numbers of Gadwall and Shoveler duck. There is a well-established breeding colony of the increasingly endangered Water Vole, following a successful introduction programme in 2001 in partnership with the Environment Agency.
