Who is going to be at Slimes this Saturday for Rotersand?

I'm going with a few mates, and what with finishing work at 5 (was originally 6, wangled an hour out of them) it's still going to be Mission Impossible music playing in the background while I race to get ready....

You're fond of these head counts arn't you! I shall be there to see Rotersand, hopefully it'll be as good as their set at Infest this year. To be honest though i'm not getting my hopes up as the sound in Slimes can sometimes be a bit hit and miss. I think that dirty warehouse we venture into must have bad acoustics because that small upstairs room, which you would have thought would have great sound because of its size, can sometimes still let the sound escape...

Then again i'm going a bit deaf from playing music in my headphones too loud so perhaps it's just me? I saw Aganoize and was quite satisfied, and then went to the recent VNV gig and was rather dissapointed...

LOL Stoo how many threads do I start otherwise? I don't go to Slimes every week, and like to know how many fellow forum-users are attending on the same nights, so I can say hi... :D

I'm also hoping to see Reaper, then of course New Years Eve, beyond that I'm not sure. Sonar sounds good too, especially when I have Martin's birthday on Jan 10th and Dave's on Jan 12th, joint piss-up for those two, methinx!!

Yeah 3 floor nights are cool, for me it means the Goth music has it's own floor and doesn't get mixed in with the other stuff. I don't mind some Goth but it is just not my preference. At least those that go for Goth tunes get a decent night of them....

I like my stompy-stompy stuff... and a certain dark elektro band as well... :D

Will be second time for seeing Rotersand for me as well, though I saw them M'era Luna rather than Infest. I kinda want to see RBN as well, since I hear it's Steve Weeks band and I'm curious on how his stuff sounds like.

Have you heard a track on the middle floor, that has a repeated loop that says "By my side" - that is Faithless (VNV Mix) by RBN. It gets played quite regularly.

Hahaha! Exactly. I think last time I was at Slimes my very trad goth friend refused to leave the trad goth floor and so it always motivates me to go upstairs and meet new people. Actually, I was at a club last weekend and they played TS. I thought of you ;)

Yes, I know that track, a friend of mine pointed it out to me when I was curious about RBN. But it's still a VNV remix, so it's not going to show the proper RBN sound, now is it? Like, if you compare "Hellraiser" with the VNV mix of it, there is a definite difference in sound between the two.

That is true. Personally, I prefer the VNV mix because it is a bit more beepy.

They did a very decent set with the Covenant gig. Couple of keyboardists and lead singer jobs. I'd recommend catching them if you like the lighter side of dance type eletronica... not the most active stage acts :P

Rotersand was good! I had fun, and my friend Nyree, who had never been to Slimes before, enjoyed herself immensely and should be returning :D

Rotersand was excellent enough for me to buy their shirt and that honour I only give to the very best. ;)

Curious though, did they do "the sign" thing with Exterminate, Annihilate, Destroy in Infest? They certainly didn't in M'era Luna, so I'm wondering whether it's something new or just something they do in smaller venues / good crowds...?

That makes me even more annoyed. My girlfriend saw them supporting Covenant in Milan, and I was very disappointed they didn't support them over here, and then I miss them at Slime.
