View Full Version : Synthetic Culture improved

I went to Synthetic Culture last Friday and I have to say that it has certainly improved, as they had properly separated the hard dance floor from the alternative floor and as such, you didn't have to be constantly worrying which floor you should be on to hear proper music, as opposed to dance rubbish. Though the prices are still nasty, security checks are worse than on frigging airports and the top loft dance floor isn't that spacey, it's now a nice night out on Friday, as opposed to suffering all the bad for sheit music. Especially if you can catch Rivetmike throwing some really nice music about.
If you disliked it before, give it another try someday. :)

Give me about £100 for drinks and body armour to deal with the security and I might think about it. ;)
Aye, it’s all about Rivetmike’s sets :)
Haven’t been for a fair while myself but had a decent night. Was good to see some friends that I haven’t seen in a fair while.
Many thanks again to Rivetmike for allowing me to do a wee guest spot in his set…
For anyone interested, I played:
Chemlab – Codeine, Glue & You
GGFH – Real
Mount Sims – Hate Fuck
John B – Stalking You On Myspace
Castor – Emily
Adam Freeland – We Want Your Soul
Meat Beat Manifesto – Dogstar Man
Was much fun :)
And was good to see you again too mr.Byakhiam :) (wonders if you knew it was me that came & said hello to you? ;))
That scrawny little floor upstairs was supposed to be a Goth floor from what I understood. If the main floor played good stuff, that would be better.
Anyhow, no thanks, I don't think I'll be rushing back to that place.

When I started going to Synth a a year and a half a go, that middle floor was EBM/Industrial with Electroclash/Trad Goth upstairs. Now that middle floors just hard dance. It doesn't seem that alternative to me. It just seems to ask a lot to travel all the way to Synth ( it's not the most accesable of clubs), pay the really high drink prices and endure their OTT search policy just to hear music that you can hear at most other places. I don't like the new music policy.
And what retarded ass clown designed the layout of that top floor?!?! The dance floor, the bar, the entrance and the toilets all in the same place?!?!
Speaking of alternitave clubs to Slimelight, Strength through joy is back next month. Time for some serious old school industrial stomping! STJ has been missed.
I like STJ...but the venue sucks major ass meat :( It's far too hot & cramped in there to be as enjoyable as it could be...And as for finishing at 3am? Rubbish! Altho it does mean you can head on down to the Electrowerkz for some extra friday night fun ;)

Of course I did. I can remember people perfectly well with just meeting them once. ;)
Something that I do wonder, is that what exactly were you and those girls talking about when you were so often looking at my direction? :p

Lol.
You mean when we were all huddled talking and pointing at you?...ohhh, nooothing ;)
Really tho, was telling them who you are on here.

we're actually cutting the amount of hard dance next month, middle floor will mainly be EBM etc. and top floor will be predominently industrial (albeit with a guest set by Cavey Nik), whilst the small amount of hard dance we do have is on the middle floor RivetMike will be playing in the loft

:) Have to agree that it was improved since I last went over a year ago. had a fun night, saw lots of friends and didn't have a hangover the next day for the drink price reason!!

The one time I went to Synth I was asked to show my ID whilst leaving. Anyone see the logic in that?

i have to say STJ is the best club night in london
end
if slimelight would learn from that and the fact that it is actually relatively busy now...
no, that would be a bit much to ask for ;)
i do like slimelight when its good... some night were the best ones i ever had in a club but its a matter of luck and you never know how the music is going to be.
i think last year managed to scare away most people who were into the harder v1 industrial stuff... martial is hardly ever played, old ebm maybe one song and noise is now more techno.
shame!

Well, I am still thinking about this one:
If you look under 21, you will be asked for ID to prove you are over 18...
