Saw the poster for it a couple of months back and it looked quite interesting.
Saw the trailer for it last weekend and yeah I could see myself going to see it. Kind of reminded me of the way the robots turned against the humans in a section of the Animatrix. One of the robots harms a human and is sent on trial in I, Robot...in the Animatrix the robot kills the family it's serving and also goes on trial. It eventually leads to the fall out between the humans and the machines. I don't see the ending being similar though. I'd say in I, Robot Will's gonna save the day (again). The Animatrix was a little more grim I have to say :P

I second what they said...
You should watch the anime "Metropolis", tis a good film...based on the original film Metropolis.
There was going to be more here, but my head hurts too much. sorry.

I didn't realise the background of I, Robot and let's not forget here that I am pretty busy with my own things so I'm not able to spend time researching all sorts of stuff I want to see and the other point regarding the animation stuff is there's so much anime out there it's hard to keep up lol
I have heard about Metropolis but not seen it. I've seen a fair share of anime and just recently saw the three Cyber City ones which were cool. Prefer the American soundtrack though to the awful Jap one.
Oh and if anyone was ever able to follow Moster City I'd love to shake your hand...that one was so surreal and weird. Hard one to follow IMO!
Hehe, I'm a biiiig fan of anime, as my dvd collection will attest ;) Recently I've been watching some fantastic anime series' I picked up on dvd.
Monster City was the one with the guy with the sword his father used to slay the demons wasn't it?
It's definately weird & surreal but there wasn't really much in the way of a plot if i remember rightly; demons attack city cuz they're after someone (was it the mayor or something?), one man can stop them but he's a bit on the timid reluctant side...his father was a bad ass tho, and during the film he finds his fathers sword, gets bad ass himself & hacks some demons up. I might be missing something as it's been a while since I watched it.
I'd recommend you check out Wicked City, it's done by the same chap as Monster City, in fact I have them both on a double film VHS I bought :D
Personally enjoyed Wicked City much more...IMHO it has some truly great scenes :) (I wont spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it!)
Damn, talking about Wicked City makes me want to watch it again!

I've seen that a couple of times, is it just me or do a lot of the characters look like exactly the same style as in the old 'Tin Tin' comics?
Drove me mad when I was watching it, I kept expecting a couple of guys in bowler hats to come walking around the corner....

 It's true...the Japanese artists/animators deliberately went for that 1950's/1960's American animation look...I think the idea was the stark contrast between the fururistic city-scapes and the seemingly retro animation style (yet admittedly it was cutting edge animation! If you don't understand then watch it and see)
I was looking for a picture of the professors from Tin Tin for you, but instead I found this (http://www.fukadume.com/prof/tin.jpg) which looks linfintely more interesting!

(in reply to Flux's Monster City/Wicked City post)
Yeah you're dead right about Monster City's lack of plot. Well at least if there was supposed to be a little more to the film I sure as hell missed it amongst the really messed up, an quite frankly all over the place, main plot line. Did you find the time displacement really confusing or was it just me?!
Haven't seen Wicked City since, as I mentioned before, time is often spent doing my music projects or something connected with it and being a uni student of music tech the money is kinda short (gotta keep some aside for slimes though hehehe). If I do get the opportunity and the time to see it I will do.
BTW you were right about the plot with the sword. I remember that last action sequence fairly well even though it was years ago on Bravo when I last saw it. Doesn't it end with an almight hack right down the centre of that huge mother of a demon?
Quite a gorey finish I gotta say :P
Have you seen the Cyber City ones I mentioned?...they're from the Cyber Punk series that also spawned the PC games of the same name.

I agree Flux, the animation is absolutely amazing in Metropolis. I loved watching the composite stuff on the extras and seeing it build up layer by layer - it's gorgeous.
And I believe you were looking for this...
