Heya all, I've just moved down to london to take a job in the new stringfellows soho... and I'm looking for someplace to go! Seems like the slimelight is just my scene, as I've been dying to go out since I came down! When I'm up in manchester I tend to frequent jilly's, binary, satan's hollow, the ritz etc. and I'm missing decent nights out that aren't crowded with muppets dressed in shirts, jeans and trainers! I just thought I'd introduce myself here to see if there's anyone I can get a bit friendly with before I go down, just so's I'm not lonely until I can drink enough to get confidence tointroduce myself to randoms.
Just to introduce myself, I'm Tom, 19, from manchester. I'm generally kinda trendy gothic in my style, although I have medium length hair that everyone likes to take the piss out of me for due to it looking a bit emo :p I have, alas, got no peircings at the moment, and my hair is straight black due to having to take anything exciting about my appearance out for work :( If you want to recognise me in there though, I'll probably be wearing mostly cyberdog stuff (I honestly can't be bothered to shop in many other places for my clothes!), my hair is black, probably with grey streaks in it by saturday, I'm skinny and about 6ft4. I can attach a massive label to myself saying 'Toole' if it helps :p
So does anyone fancy a pre slimelight drink in a pub or something so I can get to know some decent people?
hi you gothic trendy emo shirt hater big label wearer form up north.
since nobody has warned you yet, dont expect me to say hi as i intend to be on a dancing frenzy again (hopefully as the music promises to be ueber excelent this coming weekend)
anyway have fun, iam sure you'll find plenty of people who are generally friendly enough and talkative. but do say hi if you recognise me, i might just about squeeze a "hi" through my teeth.
pre slimelight pubbing used to be in the old days (yeah those where the days they dont do days like those anymore) the Dev in camden. i wont be there, as i will be way way too busy before slimelight.
not that you would want my (our) company anyway i am sure ;-)

Okay, give the guy a chance, I was pretty damn naive before I came to London, and I'm sure many others were too.
All the same love, don't restrict yourself to Cyberdog, it's the quickest way to waste all your money and look like a prat. Take a look around what other's are doing (yeah, I know...) and try to work out what'd be good for you. Looking your best is a fine art and it's worth thinking outside the box...
Open your mind a bit otherwise London will chew you up and spit you out again, or it might just turn you into a bastard. Good luck at Slimelight... wish I was there to wave you a hello.

OOHh!! *clutches handbag* Yeah, I admit I've purchased their wares on a couple of occasions. In their support, they're clothing seems to be a damn fine quality, mostly machine-washable and Made in UK (trust me, that's a big deal) I don't think I've had a single visit to Camden without going in, the place is a legend.
You know the score, it's the clothes-horse syndrome, and the sheer over-colourfulness of it all. Like all the fine things in life: moderation. It makes ALL the difference.

Hey Toole,
Don't pay too much attention to the what's being said here. Slimers tend to be a trendy lot ... albeit with specific "Slimelight trends" ... and it is currently trendy to slag off Cyberdog stuff, which has been a little over-done at Slime in the last few years!
Shit, even I have some Cyberdog stuff ... a couple of black tops & some trousers from when Cyberdog was a stall in Kensington Market. You're correct in that most of it does last pretty well, but alot of it is made by immigrants in a sweat-shop just off Kingsland Road ... trust me on that ... I've been in there!
Stick with black clothing to start with (Cyberdog or whatever) and you'll feel at home. After that, you'll know what to do!
As for drinking before Slime, I usually get there pretty late, and this week I'm going to a party first, so I can't meet you I'm afraid, but the Dev in Camden is usually a safe bet and there'll be a few Slimers in there for sure.
Good luck!! ... and see you there!!
;)

So nobody for any kind of drink before a night out? Or has my previous post put people off knowing me to the extent that they're not prepared to say hi and have a pint or two?
Just head to the dev mate!I'm sure there will be a lot of people you will feel comfortable talking to!
Then head to slimes You will find most people in there quite welcoming!!Well apart from the twat in the top hat!!!But you'll do fine I'm sure:)

hm, I opposite that. the quality's not the best.

another white trousers I have also has some issues already, and didn't wear that much of it yet.

Well, ta very much. Like I said, I had my naive days. I have two Pink/black tops which really don't suit me at all, because I used to think more about how something looked on the hanger... These days I'm more likely to go from shop to shop getting very excited about lots of garments and not buy anything.
So actually should sell 'em on somehow.

Cyberdog is sign-posting, so always has its use. If someone wasn't wearing cyberdog, for example, i might make the mistake of letting them talk to me for more than 30 seconds... with cybergod clothes around its always very clear who i shouldn't let waste my valuable time.
oh, and I fully support the idea of people turning up to slimelight with a sign saying 'toole' on them...
