hi,

got a question:

Ged and I are going to Slimes on 6th May, staying over in London, and going to see Cov on the 7th. Naturally, we need somewhere to stay in between.
The question is, can anyone recommend a good, cheap place to stay that's not too far from the gig, it doesn't have to be in Islington itself but reasonably close by, do-able on the tube, etc....

I've looked into a few random hostels and nearly all seem to have "check-in from 2pm" which is useless to us, cos we won't get enough sleep that way.

Was just wondering if anyone from the local area had some tips we could follow up on :)

oo, the generator, that was the name of the place I couldn't remember. From knowing people coming to mudmeets from scotland and such places twice a year for the last 8 or so, I know that many of them have stayed at the generator for the last several years when they do it. I don't know about check-in times but as a place they said it was nice and very reasonably priced.

One of those aforementioned people had stayed at a place in kings cross once before finding it and that really was dirt cheap. The saying you get what you pay for applied and it was a -really- dodgy place, I think he only stayed there the once...

aww you are in the same predicament as me, except i was going to stay in a hotel, but now my friend has kindly let me crash at hers, somewhere on the outskirts of london, but at least its a place to stay never the less >_<
