Hello there,
My name is Jo and for my University Cultural Studies course I am doing some ethnographic research on subcultures. I am trying to find some information about the goth subculture, if you could answer these questions then that would be great :)
Thanks,
Jo xx
How would you define yourself?
What bands do you listen to?
What books do you read?
What films/television do you watch?
Do you think your subculture is more intellectual than the norm?
How would you describe you style?
What do you think defines your subculture?
Do you see yourself as a purist?
Have you ever experienced any discrimination because of your style?
Have you ever experienced any sexism/homophobia within your group (and why do
you think that is)?
Would you say there is a sense of “tribal” togetherness in your group?
What are certain things that you like to do?
Do you believe you are stereotyped (and do you think you are a stereotype)?
Would you say there is a crossover with your subculture and other groups?
Do you see yourself as unique?
